My dear cuties, as some of you know my dad has been in hospital. He has been there 2 months & 2 days...........It has been a very difficult journey. He went in for a simply colonoscopy & due to many complications he developed a twisted bowl & had to have emergency surgery to correct this. My dad is 83 years old & in very good health, with regular exercise & a pretty healthy diet this has kept him form being sickly. He is active as well. He might get the odd cold or flu but otherwise he has been in very good health so this came as a shock to us all. The medications given to him made him hallucinate & his memory was quite disturbingly bad........ once he was taken off the medications his memory started to improve but infection set in & he was back in the Intensive Care Unit. We got the call that he was placed on Life Support with impending doom 3 times & each time we had to go back to hospital & watch him slide further into a very poor state.Even after his lungs filled up with fluids & his heart had to work that much harder to breath & he was placed on life support he would grab hold of our hand & tell us it was going to be ok. It was an emotional roller coaster for us all. Finally after all that he went through my mother said take him off all the medications his heart can't take it. Remember my dad never took many antibiotics before so there was no way to know how his body would react to them. The Dr.'s told my mother they didn't think it was a good idea but after talking to us all, we all agreed to stop the meds. The Dr.'s call him the mystery man because within 3 days his memory improved & he started to breath on his own. My mom was right the medications were too strong for him & his body couldn't take them. More allergies learned........... He was placed on the 2cd floor finally to undergo Physical therapy & he was more like himself every day. From them telling us to prepare for the worst & not having him come home to a complete turn around . His therapy went so well we finally got to bring him home! We are all so incredibly relieved & believe it was a Christmas Miracle. He is week & gets tired after a bit but he is independent & can manage to do everyday things. It will take him some time to get back into a daily routine but he is well on his way & eating & sleeping in his own bed & that makes such a difference. I can not thank you cuties for your prayers for all of us I truly with all my heart believe that they make all the difference in the world!

I am awed by this story. What a trial your family has been through. So glad things have turned around. What a brave call about the meds.

So happy to see you back! You and your family have been under Cuties continual outpouring of prayers in your families behalf, prayers are heard and answered, miracles can and still do happen, the Holy Spirit does prompt and guide us when we are spiritually seeking answers and willing and able to listen to that still small voice. It is easier when it is a bold and direct response but usually that is not the way of the Holy Spirits guidance. Your sweet mother has obviously learned to listen to that voice, and to then abide by the council that has been given. There is a joke about doctors that says:There is a reason it is called a medical practice, because practice is what they have learned to do in their profession. Doctors tend to be taught to look at ways that most people respond, or what is generally the cause if someone has specific problems, but those are all generalizations and many people just do not fit those stereotypical guidelines. They also are taught in medical school that if you hear hoof beats, think ...horses, in this case the hoof beats of your father turned out to be a zebra or maybe even a unicorn as the hand of God was truly there helping your family to know what was the best for your dad. So happy your family can now take a deep breath again and treasure the time you have together still. The stress and exposure to infections likely effected many members of your family so all of you need to be extra vigilant in all aspects of your lives even into the coming weeks and months to taking special care of yourselves, maintaining mighty prayer and in the listening to that still small voice that can guide if we are willing to learn how to listen. Huge Hugs dear friend, Pam

Thinking of you all. Sounds like a very difficult and challenging time. He sounds like an amazing man and well done to your mum. It takes a strong person to tell doctors to stop what they are doing when They believe what they are doing is right. Prayers for you all and pleased your dad is home where he will be much happier

That is good news and I'm sure that with the Lord's help he will be completely healed. I for one is not for taking a lot of medicine and believe in natural healing. The medicine my late husband took for cancer and the treatment killed him. It was too much. Hugs and my prayers are with you.

He is lucky to have you and your mom looking out for him, and pressing the doctors to get him off those medications. I hope the rest of his recovery goes well. It's good to see you back online.
