Was wondering if anyone has used the puffy foam under any of their embroidery designs. I found a pack that I bought quite some years ago and haven't tried it yet. Imagine that! LOL Any suggestions as to which designs work best or do I just avoid it!

I use it on fleece when doing eyes, or noses or other small embroidery things on terry cloth. I have also used for numbers on t-shirts. I found that I was having a hard time getting the tension right and the foam helped. I also use it when I want the design to stand out a little, I try to match the color of foam to thread. Picked up a package at Dollar tree with many colors in the craft section. Play with it and have fun, it tears away easy and any tiny pieces outside of the threads use a little heat from your iron and they shrink inside. Hope this helps.

I was WRONG, it was APEX designs. They have the dolphin for free in 3D designs so you can try it. I also have some of their 3D fonts and I love them. So easy.

I used it for dolphin bag but it was digitized for foam. I can't think of the site I got it from. It was not Apex but site that has a lot of alphas and freebies and is well known. If that helps.

It will work under lots of applique designs and I have heard of folk who use it under trapunto designs.

I have never used it, but if memory serves me (which often it doesn't) use of puffy foam requires that the design be digitized specifically for it's use. Here is a link to the Sulky site which discusses the foam. It may be helpful.
