Really like mine. Sews and embroiders well. I use it mostly for sewing because I have a Viking Diamond Royale for embroidery. Yes, Viking has gone down but so has Pfaff that is affiliated with them . Soon I expect Viking to get over the merger of Viking, Pfaff and Singer. Floor models are the way to go. Little mileage but enough to find any problems. My Royals is a floor model and works perfectly. jobaby
Wondering what you mean by your comment:
"Soon I expect Viking to get over the merger of Viking, Pfaff and Singer."
The takeover happened a long time ago now (2006). Viking was a good company when it was Swedish owned and manufactured.
MAYBE you should tell the dealer about all the comments...and he/she could let the company know? I've never had good luck with emailing the company, but maybe the dealers will! It's a shame as they were the best machines on the market for so long!!
Good morning..... thank you very much or your advices. I decided not to buy it. I am afraid to b a lemon. So I will have to go to the brothers dealers. it is about an hour from Orlando.
I wouldn't have another Husqvarna Viking Diamond if you gave it to me.
I bought mine when they were first released and it has never lived up to the hype surrounding it.
It doesn't stitch anywhere near as nicely as my two Elna Xquisite machines and two years ago it started missing stitches, shredding the top thread and causing thread nesting.
After two expensive trips, (making five in total), to the repair shop it was still no better, so for the last two years it has just taken up space, as a very costly white elephant, in my sewing room as I don't have the time, nor the patience, to even bother with it. I can't even sell it as my conscience won't let me pass off my problems onto someone else.
So for me it is a very big no, based on my experience with mine, I can't in all good conscience recommend this machine and I would definitely never buy another Husqvarna/Viking machine.
This being said, maybe you will be lucky and get a good one, I wish you luck with it.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
I would not get a viking because the dealer in my area is a grouch, is wife who run the fabric department along with the embroidery machine section of the store is a nice lady.
Viking service has gone downhill and so has their product in my opinion. Have had 4 machines and would not biuy another. My SIL has the Diamond and has had some problems with it. She is currently waiting on parts for repairs. I have had to wait 2 months for parts to repair my Ruby. Not a fan of Viking anymore. I now have an industrial (Happy) embroidery machine and I ove it. Good lucké

The Designer Diamond is a wonderful machine. When you say is comes with all the guarantees, does that include a service maintenance agreement? Also, ask the dealer about servicing-does it have to be sent out or is the service person local? Viking is offering good deals on pre-loved machines right now. Good luck. Hugs. Nan W
I have the Diamond and when the company I bought it from went out of business, two years later, I lost my warranty.
I have the original Diamond. It's been good, however I would agree with the other people...Viking is not the company they used to be. Be sure you can get service, parts, etc and how long!!
I agree with Gerry. I have the original Diamond. I have had no problems but as Gerry says the company isn't what it used to be. I won't be buying any new Husqvarna machines. I added the Brother Dream Machine to my machine family last year and it is real
Having trouble editing. I was trying to say the Dream Machine is just that- a dream. I hope I won't have to buy a new machine for a long while but would lean towards Brother.
I would get some written commitment about warranty and updates available for it...the last thing you want to invest in is an older model machine that might be outdated before you even take it out of the box. Software updates and parts could be potential problems...
I have the machine. Bought it right after it came out when Viking was still a single owner company. The company was bought out and merged into a large corporation, I took it in for repair and update and was informed there were no more updates for it. The company had moved on to newer models. Please check with your dealer and verify if it is honoring its warranties. I have had some problems with the embroidery especially with larger hoops that allows fabric to slip. Finally bought a 10 needle which I love. Be careful. My preference would be a Dream machine or Bernina equivalent. Unfortunately I have so much invested into it and its supplies I can't afford to change.
I have a Husqvarna Viking Diamond DeLuxe and I love it. It has big hoops, uncountable stitches and designs. I`m sewing a lot for my grandchildren, mainly jerseys, sweats and nicky (cotton-stretch-velvet).
Everything without a fuzz.
