pleased to hear you are having success- be careful resizing designs -you should not go more than 20% up or down as generally they do not alter the stitch count they just lengthen and shorten the stitches - if you resize to far you either get gaps or stitch intensive designs .cross stitch shouldn't be resized at all.-enjoy your new addiction
Thanks everyone for your warm welcomes and fabulous suggestions. I think I might now be on the right track. Cheers Vicki
Hi again. Is your MIL able to help as the machine was originally hers or are you able to contact the shop where the machine was purchased from for some help as so far little appears to be helpful. I am a Brother owner but basically transferring designs from a computer to the card can only be done if you have the softwear to do so which is downloaded onto your computer first. Machine embroidery is great fun but getting set up and embroidering can be challenging. Have you looked at youtube as it can be most helpful - sometimes. Please let us know if were being helpful and how you get on.
Hi Thanks. My MIL has no idea. She can't remember how to use the machine at all.
I think I have solved the problem. Stock on this thread suggested some free software and I have downloaded that and have been able to convert formats which are not in the "sew" format to the "sew" format, I have had to resize them to do so but I now seem to be on the right track. A big thank you to everyone for their help. Cheers
Welcome to Cute. I hope someone will be along to help you.
before you purchase any software make sure it is compatible with your computer as some of the older software does not operate on newer versions
Can anyone help please? Welcome to Cute
Hi and Welcome to Cute, Vicki...this may help...the 9000 is not listed, but similar models are...Third link is specific to the 9000 machine...looks like you need Customizer 2000 software to get the designs onto the reader card.

Hi Wendy. Thanks I do have a blank card. Having trouble with the correct format. Seems "sew" format is what I need to use.
you can get free programs to change the format, Wilcom, My editor, there are more maybe someone else can tell you...wendy
Just downloaded Wilcom free software. Seems to be able to work for me! I am able to save as "sew" files. :) Thanks heaps :)
