I came back to add a suggestion. Go to utube and watch many, many videos of how-to's and projects. The Missouri Quilting Company has a large selection by a great lady who makes as she tells. I spend a lot of time just wandering around and watching things.
Jo
Thank you very much Jo, I will surely follow your suggestion.
Hugs - Roberta
It is very beautiful and you will perhaps make more one day
Why give up quilting. You did a great job. I am proud of you.
Oh i love it and no quilting is not for sissy's lol hours of work***
Excellent job hugs
Roberta- This is a wonderful quilt! Shocking that it was your first one too! Personally having made many quilts, I find that making a quilt in all one piece like you have done, seems a far harder undertaking as you must line everything up the way you want it, before stitching it out. Stitching out blocks then trimming the block to square it up, and then stitching the various blocks together seems far less risky, at least in my opinion! You did a wonderful job. For you to have lined up those 20 heart blocks with the 12 nursery rhyme designs is a fantastic accomplishment. You did a great job and it is sure to hold up over the future generations of that child! I hope you will make many more, in whatever style and technique you choose. I think the goal should be to enjoy the journey from the planning, and stitching to the treasuring the finished project! Since yours was a gift I am glad you took a picture to remember it by. The only thing that would have meant a great deal to me would have been to have a picture of my grandmother working on my own quilt to display with the quilt when it was not being used on our bed. I know your quilt will be a treasured heirloom also. You should be very proud. I am also another that loves the satin edging detail, which has been a favorite of children for generations! Pam
My most sincere thanks for your comment.
I always admired beautiful quilt made with geometrical cut fabrics embracing embroidered central motives.
I tried over and over and only because I was so frustrated of mediocre results that I decided to design
a blanket to imitate a quilted pattern.
Thank you again for your encouragement and the time you took to explain, I certainly will try again.
Hugs, Roberta
It is a lovely quilt. Don't let it be your last, the first is always the hardest but it will get easier as you learn more from doing.
Looks lovely. I am sure you will try another. Hugs
Wow! It is so wonderful! You may change your mind and do another as this one turned out so great!
It is lovely. One can see it was made with love. I do like the satin binding for a baby quilt. Quilting is a learning process for me, always a new idea or way to make something. Remember-there are NO quilt police.
Your comment is very appreciated and very encouraging and I thank you very much for it.

oh it is simply lovely, I would not pick it for being your first quilt, love all the embroidery hearts too
It is beautiful, love the way you designed it. You need to keep making them!
Not all quilts need to be made of squares a triangles, doing one that has embroidery can be just as beautiful and yours is beautiful. Marian
Well done but please don't give up its lovely the next one will be easier.
This is a beautiful quilt. You did amazingly well. Love those little heart squares
A terrific quilt, you have done a magic job with the first one, I am sure who ever received your quilt will be delighted and treasure it always. Sandra.

Roberta, I love it. Such beautiful and sweet little nursery rhyme designs. I can't believe it's a first try. Congratulations.
This is truly a work of love - which means so much than any "perfect quilt" touted in some book. This is adorable, Roberta, and a lot better than my first couple of quilts - so, well done and kudos to you! Hugs, Deb
