The Epic is a very heavy machine and not easy to pack around but durable and has some nice features but the Brother I believe offers more flexibility.

I am a very satisfied Viking user, have had their machines since 1980. My Designer 1 (1998) is still going strong and is used daily by my daughter as she sews a LOT of costumes for an amateur theatrical society. My Ruby stitches like a dream, Good, regular cleaning keeps them going without problems.

I have both machines and prefer Husqvarna machines. The Brother machines are much heavier to carry around. I mentioned that because I take my Husqvarna machine to Sewing Guild the 1st and 2nd Thursday of every month and The Husqvarna is easier to tote around. I've got the Brother 2 Innovis eye 6700D (Disney) and a Husqvarna Designer 1 (Special Edition). It all depends on which dealer is the closest to you. You must have someone who can service for you and who is not too far away. Good luck with your choice. Love ❤️ Chris, Newcastle, Australia

Thank you Chris...
The scan feature in the Brother machine is tempting
I already have a Ruby.

I am sorry, but I am confused too. Are you trying to choose between these machines? Best to post in the Community to get some feedback and be a little more informative what you are asking.

My comments are as graceandhams. Its not good buying a machine that has no after sales care. This is a comment that has been made many times here in the past. I have come across shops that happily sell machines and then...nothing and zilch interest in any assistance. To me the fact that I can phone at any time the shop is open and ask questions and the detail of care is very important to me. Have fun choosing what you want and let us know

You need to go test drive both machines and then not be confused any longer. I prefer HusqvarnaViking machine in general and think the Epic a truly wonderful machine. I find HV machines to be more user friendly with less steps to achieve stitching. That said, the scan feature and camera are terrific as well. So go test and decide for your self. Hugs. Nan W

Which brand does your repairman prefer to work on? Select your repairman first, then select your brand. If his/her store sells both, ask which he/she prefers to service. (By the way, love my Innovis - was a great decision.)

I have been weighing up machines lately I have come to the conclusion the Dream Machine is the best value around at the moment. Hopefully getting mine before May (yippee)

I do not know any of the two and use a Bernina Deco Bernette. All I know is that if I could afford it I would buy a machine with a bigger hoop also. I have a 4x4 and 5x7. Good luck with your decision. Hugs

I do not know anything about the Husquvarna Viking. I love my Dream Machine2. I Have not used the scan feature, but love the camera for placement. The other feature for adding stippling etc around any design is great for my quilting adventures. I do use the Laser Beam often when sewing. Like Chris mentioned in the other post, it is not a easily transportable machine
