Very cute! Hope the hand/wrist pain has eased the last couple days. She is sure to be a very well loved creation and just think, any larger versions will just grow the little merfamily, so no need to make the tiny little ones ever again. I too love the hair down with the ability to braid, unbraid, and style up the fleece yarn. But perfect as she is. I have not seen hair done in that way. Are there multiple layers of the purple to give the volume of hair or are the braids added after? Fantastic job!
I added 6 long stands of fleece, about 1inch wide, into the head seam. You have to roll some up and tape down all of it, to keep out of the seams, you have to sew RST. Then turn it all out of the opening you leave in the body to stuff. The hair and the head have to pass though the neck, to come out the body when you turning RSO....I did make it larger but by increasing my pieces the head increases too so I still don't know how hard it will be to turn RSO (right side out).
Love it Toogie. The bigger it is the easier it is to turn. I like the washable easier to keep clean
Thanks Lillian, and I agree wholeheartedly. I have enlarged the pieces, but my wrist hurts, so don't know if the day will produce one or not.
so cute!!! Can you share where the pattern is from please?
Thanks. Sorry, I did use some pieces of a pattern and some I made up, so there is no so called 'pattern'.
Last pic!!!!Gorgeous...Well done!!Good attempt
I've been OFF for about 500 YEARS!!!!!!!
It is darling!!!!
God bless you!!!!!!!
Mermaids! Love Nora's new doll! Such a cute project. I love these little stuffies made from fleece. They are so soft! How big is this one? She's a cutie for sure. I like the hair made from fleece vs yarn as well. It doesn't tangle up as bad, and the whole thing is washable.
You said the face was from EmbLib.... Did you make up the rest of her?
Some pieces I made up and some I adapted from other patterns. She is about 10 1/2 inches tall, but not very wide. I too like the fact its washable. All the felt I have is craft felt and it wouldn't wash well, I'm sure.
whatever you think, I know you did a great job at it. the doll came out beautiful and am sure she will be loved. The hair looks good anyway you look at it.
You haven't took a close look, but I do thank you. It was such a tight fit with the arms already stuffed. I think I will enlarge the pattern and MAYBE make her one more. That way everything should be easier to sew and turn. I also need some yarn for the hair, don't you think?
You did a great job, she is really going to love it. I wouldn't glue the hair, my GD is always playing with the hair designs.
I like her hair down as in the last 2 pictures. Great job you've done on the mermaid. You are very clever. Love Chris
Not really clever Chris but I do thank you. This was hard on my hands and wrist...I think I'm having carpal tunnel problems. She is not very big and I forgot to say I had to reduce the face design quiet a bit. I won't make another this small.
