a friend of mine has bought a second hand Singer Quantam Futera embroidery machine ,she said when she turns it on it askes to insert the operating disc , she did not receive the manual with it and does not know what that means ,I only have Janomes so can not help ,,anyone have any ideas I can pass on to her

google singer manuals online for the make of her machine. Also there is at least 2 Singer sewing groups on face book and they are very helpful!

If your friend bought the machine second hand I would go back to who ever she got it from and ask where it is

Thank you all girls ,you have been very helpful ,do you think she would be able to buy the CD

She can go online @singer and they will send her the manual or maybe o\a pdf.

My Futura would only work if hooked to computer with USB cord and the Futura program open on the computer. Without the program(CD) installed on a computer it is useless as an embroidery machine.

From memory With this machine there is a cd which you have to insert in your computer and install the programme, before you can do any embroidery without this you can't embroider am open to correction its been a while that I used this machine.
