Thanks for the info Mickey! *4U from Mickey to Mickey. :-)
Is that double bag or split ones? Thanks for sharing not only the tip but that u tried it out. So now we know it works. We have not only brown paper bags but rolls of brown paper too. No shortage of that. *4u
Great! For those having trouble finding bags, go to the mailing supplies in anystore and there usually is a roll of brown wrapping paper to wrap stuff in to mail. That will work too, I would think. I used the bags for mailing (cut apart) for years, but they are harder and harder to find. Tks for the tip!
Another great source for brown paper. Plus the paper can be used over and over.
I thought I would add an update for everyone. I seldom have brown paper bags since I take my own canvas bags shopping. I tried it with junk mail papers and put the WWS in between the fliers. I put my iron on the lowest setting and gradually turned up the heat until the WWS is melted together. Some ink came off onto the WWS so the brown paper bag is still the best so far & the bag can be used over and over. *'s for all.
You have hit the jack pot, this tip is a very smart way of saving.a flower for you Heather
Wow, Celticlady, I am going to have to try this. How low did you set your iron?? Did you use steam or without steam?? Thank you, Hugs and a flower.
No steam. I set it on the lowest setting first and turned it up a bit from there.
I'll have to try this one 'cause I've saved almost every piece of leftover solvy.
Thanks Mickey gotta try this. I have a bag full of scrap pieces. *4U
Awwwww we do have the brown paper bag in this area and paper making is our main source of income and we do ask for paper when checking out at Wal Mart. So thanks for another way to recycle my stash of brown paper bags. Now I will get on this really soon for my stash of h-20 scraps are growning and I hate to throw anything away.
brown paper bags are great when ironing good pants, just put the brown paper bag on to of your garment, spray a little water, until very well moist,,and good bye cleaners....
Does anyone remember the post about putting water soluble topping scraps in a empty Windex bottle with water? I been doing this, now I can't remember the next step. My some timers is kicking in. Please help!!
Thanks, I reread the post and it looks as if I can only use to stiffen. I think I will only put the tiny pieces in the bottle and try the brown paper bag trick with the larger scraps. Thanks jrob for finding it.
I used even the tiny, tiny pieces and when I got done I had a whole lg piece and tried it on a FSL design. Worked just like the original WWS & no waste. I'm all for no waste.
Hi
Thanks for the good advice. I am really going to try it.
Thanks - I am acquiring a lot of this - I also have the was away thread, but this seems better - now if we could find the brown paper bags - everything around here is plastic - guess I need to ask for paper one day and see what happens.
Thanks, I will have to give this a try. Just need to find a brown paper bag. :)
Great tip always seems like I have big peices leftover from fsl and now I know what to do with them. Thanks *2u
thank you very much this will come in handy. when I was using the romeo , I had scraps that weren't so small so I stuck with some sticky tape so I had a few strips to hoop. This worked for me.But this idea sounds better.*4u
thanx for the tip not that i have many bits as i have only used it a couple of times but i will make a note in my book :)* 4 u
Thank you CelticLady. This is a great tip. I have a box of these pieces, using them separately as toppers. Binding them together will be so handy. A flower to you and many thanks!
Well then I might save all those teeny tiny bits and try it to. Probably save them in an air tight container till I get enough for the first brown paper size. Thanks
