Sue, next time you do a project like this try using the decorative stitches on your sewing machine. Anything from a plain zigzag to leaves or hearts in a line. :-)
Same as you did, stitch in a straight line but the needle waves it magic to make decorative quilting for you.
The simplest one is to use the wavy line that you use instead of the three step zigzag stitch. It helps to make one look ever so clever. :-)
By the by, did I say? Love your work!
The finished bag is now in Projects.
Wow! Impressive. Both the quilt & your use of small scraps!! Looking for what you do with them!
I like it! I have some scrap fabrics and when I get them all together I will do this. I am sure if you tried fmq you will be hooked. Like everything else it takes practice and what better testing material than the piece you created above. I probably would use a light fusible product instead of a temporary.
Stunning, you are both very clever. I love the fact that you never let anything go to waste! You are a true Recycler! Love Chris
ditto! Wish I had your energy as well. Seems to take me a long time to accomplish anything these days. Hugs. Nan W
You are both talented and thinking outside the box. Love the bright colors and am waiting to see what you do next.
What great colors. Ice dyed - interesting some ladies in our quilting guild did that. What amazes me more is that you don't let little scraps just disappear into the garbage or landfills. You are creative beyond our ancestors who never threw anything away, because you turn it into art. I definitely will be waiting with the rest of the cuties to see your end results.
I love it, the remnants are so beautiful and the resulting fabric is brilliant. I used bridal netting when I did something similar a few(?) months ago, I like the black you used.
I'll be watching this space :)
Your daughter's quilt is fab!
Awesome. That turned all these little pieces into a new fabric. Can't wait what your mind comes up with next.
Can't wait to see what you make. Again, you are sew smart and talented.
Does you mine ever stop? The quilt is beautiful. I think she has her Mom's talent.
