You still kept your promise to yourself. We all need a little treat every now and then. Hugs*
I hope you enjoyed your 2 small treats. As others said you did not purchase them and hopefully if you were refraining for a goal that you are still working toward then hopefully these 2 small treats will not throw you off your goals. We also did not do treat baskets as the grand kids are not close. I really do not really like very many kinds of candies so would hate to say just how many boxes of candy have gone to waste when given to me. I would far rather have plants for the gardens. Pictures with the families and time with them. Treasure the chocolate as it was from a dear friend which are rare and to be treasured. Happy Easter, Pam
Well done Betsey. Dana and her family are holidaying in America and at the time of me writing this will be on their way to Las Vegas. They've been in New York the past few days. Anyway, Jason had to go out on Saturday afternoon to find some Easter goodies for the kids, so they were so excited to wake up on Sunday morning and found that he had been!!!! They got Peeps too, but me being Australian I don't know what they are. We don't have them here. Love Chris
Peeps are a marshmallow confection and colored sugar sprinkles all over and are in the shape of a little chick- somewhat. Looks like they are piped out of a pastry bag and always seem to be sold in little boxes of 4 peeps if I remember correctly. They now also come colored in various other pastel colors but up until the last 10 years or so they could only be bought in the yellow color. They are pretty inexpensive treats but very, very sugary. While I like regular white marshmallows, the peeps are a beyond sugar rush, so if the girls had peeps in their baskets and they love massive sugar, and no peeps are going to be found in Australia, they may be in for cravings to get peeps again. I am sure many will feel differently about them than I do but hey that just means more peeps for them to enjoy, which is just fine with me! Hope your Easter was special. How grateful I am for our Lord Savior Jesus Christ. If we could just keep that focus year round continuing to strive to live in such a way that our very lives would be a testament unto others of our beliefs. Easter Blessings. Pam
I have to send peeps to my daughter and the grands in the UK every Easter - and now they have them for Valentine's Day (heart shaped), Halloween in the shape of a ghost), and Christmas (trees). The first time my grandson got a box of them he shoved them all in his mouth at once -and I'm on SKYPE watching unable to stop him. My daughter now knows the years of sugar highs she gave me LOL!
I didn't buy candy this year either. I gave the young grands stuffed animals, not bunnies, as I knew they would get them in their baskets, and one older grand Cam, got a boomerang. His 20-something-year-old cousin Dalton, had as much fun with it as Cam did and he's ten! I told Dalton's girlfriend I was going to get him one for Christmas!-lol
You kept your promise...now enjoy the chocolate!
Love the boomerang idea for Christmas. instant cooperative yard activity!
You kept your promise. You did not buy them. I hope you enjoyed them guilt free.
