Also check out designsbysick.com, I got a life membership by buying a CD of all their designs a few years ago. They have a huge collection of collections. Some I like some I don't care for. They do applique, filled, partial fill, cross stitch, red (blue, black) work, outlines, cut work and I don't know what else.
I also keep Cute and Amazing almost constantly. Watch for their sales on membership.
Good luck,
Jane
I have had a almost continuing membership to Cute and the sister site Amazing Embroidery Designs since 2008. In the 6 month time I get way more for my money and I do not have to worry about missing something. One other is "mygardened" for my FSL addiction. I found them the best for my money and quality.
I agree, These three memberships will carry you a long way towards an excellent collection of designs. I wouldn't worry too much about whether the membership is lifetime or not. Many of the digitizers that have developed their skiils are older folk, and I figure the designs and site go away when they do! (Occasionally a spouse or friend will continue awhile.)
I have several memberships as I became tired of searching for freebies and have no time spare now. I would rather spend that time stitching or downloading designs I will actually use. My favourite designs have come from cute and mygardened. I have not had any issues with any of them yet. I do have a membership at DBS but I only download ones that I will actually use. I have tried a number from there and have ended up deleting them as they were not stitching out well. Don't be scared off though some are great designs and stitch out fine, just be aware.
My tip even if you have a membership there are only so many designs you will ever get the time to use, so be picky and download ones you like and will use rather than just because they are there. Even at full price the membership prices at cute, amazing and mygardened are well worth it. I haven't been sorry and it is my way of saying thank you to the owner rather than waiting for a sale and saving just a few dollars. It is still way cheaper than paying for each design anyway.
I forgot about My gardened. I get a subscription membership there when I get cash for my birthday or Christmas. I don't have enough time to stitch out all the designs I have and love now... I am very picky!
A Lifetime Membership is only as good as the website...if the website closes...you lose...you need to be very careful about quality if that is important to you...I bought a lifetime at Sick based upon the quality of the designs at the time...since then...their quality has been compromised by the quality of the designs that Sick now accepts to sell...many of the designs they have offered in the past two years fall in to this category...auto digitized and very poor...not worth any price in my opinion. I will admit I believe the site is trying to clean up its act, but there only have a very few digitizers and the variety of designs is slim. They have recently added Katie Do designs, but I have not had the time to review their quality...I did not purchase from her site when it was still active. I have memberships to Cute and Advanced Embroidery Designs (the two Cute sites) and they are the only membership sites I would consider purchasing at this time. Be careful and good luck.
I think you meant Amazing Embroidery Designs and not Advanced Embroidery Designs. Right?
Agree with you the quality of the DBS designs has declined in the last couple of years.
I only buy memberships at Cute + sister site. I have purchased CD's from a few sites and love the designs. Unfortunately, many of those websites have closed. I used to buy subscriptions from other websites but too many websites do not test designs prior to offering them. I found many poorly done (like auto-stitched) designs. I pay (more than I care to think about) at Embroidery Library for sets and individual designs when they are on sale.... But my favorite subscription sites are Cute Embroidery and Amazing Embroidery as they offer designs I like.
Embroidery DK is a good site lots of variety and about 20 plus designs added each Saturday.
Well as this is Cute why not buy yourself a membership here?
Great designs, great community and loads of advice, assistance, help 24 hours every day
I was thinking about here at cute embroidery or amazing designs. It is disappointing that it appears the amount of designs never increases. Each week there are new designs posted for sale but evidently, older ones are being retired at the same time.
For example, I logged in today and it shows only 5714 total designs are available. After being in business as long as they have, with new designs weekly, I'm sort of baffle that there is just 5714. Does anyone know how often designs are retired here? Are there any announcements before being retired?
There are 4 sister sites operated by Miss V along with this one. She started in 2006. Please share more with us about you and what it is you are looking for.
We are very happy here and enjoy making new like minded friends.
No to answer your last question. If you believe that there have been several retired designs why do you question the 5714. According to your declaration there could have been millions? I'm just wondering where you are coming from?
Cute started September 2006. 11 x 365 plus a few leap days is less than 5714, so there's been more than 1 a day on average.
I was unaware that the site has only been ongoing since 2006. So that was my first error. For some reason, I thought it was older. I do remember Amazing Emb Designs having a statement about a new design each day so it makes sense now that cute would also average 1 design a day. When I first used this site a few weeks back, I noticed several designs for sale on a Wednesday and assumed that there was maybe two dozen designs introduced per week. Thinking about it now, there are about 20-30 new designs since then an it was about three weeks ago. So it does equal out to an average of one a day and more during holidays. Easter brought on a whole surprise of extras that I wasn't expecting. So does Ms. V operate Adorable Applique, Cute Alphabets, and Cute Cross Stitch as well? If a membership is taken with one, do all of the designs link into the subscription? Or only the designs from the site subscribed are available to the subscriber? For those with memberships to Cute and Amazing, how many designs do you normally download each month?
I have a life membership at Sick and i love there designs All sew out well for me hugs
On DBS you can download all embroidery files plus Kay Do with lifetime membership plus anything added to the site no matter how long you live and need embroidery designs.
Good deal. If you buy lifetime that makes each design of the 55770 designs for $120.00 that makes each design .0022
