I will add your family to my prayer list. It is so hard on a family member of a deployed loved one. Waiting, and worrying, and being proud and scared, and so much more. Thanks to all of you for your service.
I appreciate your prayers - you are so right - waiting, worrying, being proud and scared all at the same time. I do feel like I am holding my breath. Hugs!
Will pray for all 3 and you, too, during this time of fear and stress. My son's best friend just got back from deployment and we are so relieved.
Thank you so much! Please tell your son's friend that I thank him for his service. I understand the feeling of relief! Thank you again!
Laura thank you to your son and the ones that love him. Sacrifice is done by all family members of the soldier that is deployed. I pray that peace will come to all. It is in Gods hands. I am praying to bring him home save. Hugs to you
Thank you, Angie - your sweet words and prayers are so appreciated! Hugs to you!
O, wow, Laura, I was certainly moved by your post and the responses below. Words can't convey the thanks all of us who want peace in our time.
I'm so happy you at least get to have some Facetime with him, but I cannot believe they have to pay for the privilege. What they are doing overseas to enable us back home to live in peace is so commendable. My prayers and thoughts to your son, his wife and wee baby and of course the rest of the family. Thank you to all the military services in the Allied Forces. Love Chris
Thank you, Chris - There are so many from all over the world in harms way - I know my DH and I hold our breath when news from the area he is in comes on the TV. I appreciated all the love and support from my friends here especially. The prayers are so appreciated!! Hugs!
This must be so dreadfully hard for you all. May he come home soon, safe and sound. You are in my thoughts. Hugs Sarah
Thank you, Sarah - he has a long way to go before they will send him home. When I start to feel down - I give Alex's sweet wife a call or text to see how she is doing. Sweet Henry is keeping her on her toes as he is a climber and is so smart!! Can' t wait until their little family is reunited and I can breath again. Hugs!!
I know he is in harms way each day he is serving, and how very much I appreciate the service he is doing for each and every one of us. Too many fail to appreciate just what a gift they are being given, and often seem to only want to take the freedoms and blessings of that service, from other people who have given their lives to gain those freedoms. I am also grateful for any person who has been willing to serve in any capacity, as when they signed up, they were willing to serve in whatever position that the military had need of them to serve. Praying your son will be kept from harm and be able to return home to his family. Once home I hope that he will have any support he needs to cope with the things he is seeing and living through. Having a husband who still has issues from hauling fuel for the military when the war broke out in 2003. The birds singing in trees and any of our patriotic songs will still bring us to tears. Grateful he has face time with his family is precious. Thank You, Pam
Pam, your words touched me! Please tell your husband a sincere thank you for his service from me. Thank you - thank you!
Hugs and prayers to you all. May you all find the support in each you all need during this time
Knowing prayers are being said for Alex means the world to me!!! Thank you!!
Laura, will keep him in my prayers till he is no longer in harms way, this I Promise.
Laura, Thank you for raising a young man who is so selfless as to stop his life to serve his country. I will certainly be praying for Alex and his unit and their safety. Also for his wife, you, and you darling husband and grandson. Isn't technology grand
Thank you, Jerrilyn - Thank you so very much! To see Alex is amazing - I just want to grab him and pull him out of the phone - LOL!!!
I'm so glad to get an update. Amazing what a gift it is for us to see our loved ones in real time, to be able to talk and see them. I'm glad he i OK and pray it stays that way for him and all others who are deployed. You are a strong, loving woman who is doing very well under very difficult circumstances. I'm so proud of you!
Karen, how very kind you are to me!! Seeing Alex during Facetime is so very wonderful - it is a gift that my Hubby and I simply marvel at!! Thank you for your kind words and helpfulness!!
Many many thanks to you and your family for sharing your son and his service. It is a reminder that freedom does not come without sacrifice. I will be honored to pray for him and your family. Debbie
Thank you, Debbie - so sweet of you. He will be away for such a long time - that is especially hard! My thanks again!!
I second everything said below. May God watch over him body, mind and soul.-Toogie
Thank you for raising a son that will serve.
When my brother was TDY (for weeks or months) to a very scary place, I had to remind myself that God is watching over him every day. He was not able to contact anyone while he was there. Thankfully, he returned safe. His wife and children survived...but being family of those deployed can be heart-wrenching. Bless your sweet mamma heart!
Prayers continue...for all.
I have to remind myself often, "choose faith not fear". He is not due to come home for many many months. Sweet little Henry will have to get to know his Daddy all over again. It will be a joyous reunion when it comes to pass. Thank you for your sweet words!!
So glad you are able to keep in touch via Facetime at least....but sad that he must be called to serve in harms way...we here cannot thank your families enough for the service our military provide to all of us...my thoughts, thanks and prayers are with you all...please forward my thanks to your sweet daughter in law and grandson...and your son...for all of the many, many sacrifices they have had to make to help us maintain our freedoms...thanks are just not enough...
Kim, your words touched my heart - tears in my eyes ... thank you Dear!!
