Well, this is addicting!! Yesterday I didn't do much around the house...my sewing room called!

The lavender doily uses 3 designs from Sue Box: one called Lavender Spray and the border is made using the corner and straight edge from her Straight Edge Border Set. This was done in my 200X360 hoop. Again, in the round doily, I used her Versatile Doily 1 as the frame. The centre? I have no idea as it was uncatalogued so I'm not sure who to give the credit to. It was done before I did the geranium doily as an experiment.

When I first got my Pfaff 2140 I bought one of their limited edition CDs called Butterflies. No magic in that as I just stitched out what was there (no software manipulation). I used a fabric marker for the painted butterflies, did the design and added some 3D as accents. This sits on the dining room table when it's not in use.

Today is Mothers' Day and I pray that all of you ladies receive blessings from God in your daily lives. Be women as described in Proverbs 31 and your lives will bless those around you. Hugs, Avis

Lovely.
I do see Sue's designs pop up in the most extraordinary places.
One time I saw it as a complete project, but I think it was one she did for one of the sewing machine companies, so it is not on her web site.
I have quite a few of her designs too.

Yes. You do know Sue's designs well!! I had trouble with the trimming and had to use a fabric marker to camouflage the little "pokies". I'm going to have to try them again; however, I'll have to stop the machine and trim after it has stitched out the basic straight stitching that gives the outline shape. The rest will cover that and then there will be no need for trimming. Will be a bit fiddly but I think I'll like it better. Perhaps that will be today's experiment!! Thanks so much for your comment. Hugs back to you.

Looks fantastic. I have a 2140 and a 2170. Getting on now, but still using them. Are you still using yours or have you purchased another machine?

My 2140 had 2 upgrades; first to be as the 2144 which came out shortly after the 2140, then again upgraded to the 2170. I tell people that my machine has a 2140 body but a 2170 brain!! A few years ago I bought a Pfaff Creative Vision second hand. I use both machines. If I have a large design on the CV then I can work on the 2140/2170 and still be close should a thread break or a colour change is needed. I love both machines and they work like a charm. Thanks for your comment and I hope you keep enjoying your machines.

I do like the way you've used your art skills to add to the design. Great work.

cooperal by cooperal 16 May 2017

The artwork was not my art skills. There was a template with the design pattern that you put under the fabric and then sketched on top. Even the placement of the 3D butterflies were indicated. As I had said originally there really was no magic in doing this design...someone had it all figured out for me. I do like the dimension it gives to the embroidered butterflies. Perhaps I should make a pillow using this!!! Thanks again for your comment.

I like your way of thinking. The lavender doily took part of a 2nd bobbin of thread to complete! Thanks for your comment.
