I ended up hooping a piece of tearaway stabilizer in a new hoop. Stitched the basting stitches down. Matched up the middle point of top, bottom, both sides, corners. Started stitching and it was working until it went off course anyhow about 1/4 in. It should have (according to me) stitched perfectly. It ended up in the trash can. I probably could have made a second adjustment, but it wasn't worth the hassle. Some things are just not worth the hassle.
This is suppose to be a fun hobby, and when it becomes aggravating and upsetting, it is just easier for me to start over. Less frustration.
I am goiing to trace with pencil inside the hooped stabilizer and then embroider. Seems this happens quite often from reading posts. Probably when I trace won't have this problem.

I think this is a good idea, but even with lining things up, it did not stitch right. I'll try this if it happens again.
Hoop a piece of self adhesive stabilizer, remove the thread, and pick some stitches from all four corners of the design to do this test. Let your needle go down into the stitches (preferably some that are curved so that will get you closer). Keep lifting your design and moving it on the sticky stabilizer until you are satisfied that you have it placed exactly back in the correct spot.
What a smart cookie you are! I would never have thought of this solution. Bravo!
Thank you for the great instruction. Also had this problem often with my Brother Galaxie and was so frustrated; it happened just like described by Penny short before finishing the design :-(
