my thoughts are with your family. It's hard to imagine life as so fragile. we need to embrace every moment. I hope she continues to improve and can come home soon. It must be hard to be so far away
Sending up prayers for continued and a complete recovery. Hugs* Deb
Still sending prayers for Kathie's complete and total recovery.
What good news. As you say baby steps. Each step of progress is something to celebrate. Thanks for the update.
Nothing like the sound of a child to a mother's ears! That is such a blessing. Will continue to pray for her recovery and return home.
great you were able to talk. Prayers will continue for her, her husband and all family.
Continuing to keep her in our thoughts and prayers, being so young, will help her body be able to fight to gain her strength and mobility back again and that the Lord's hand will guide and direct the doctors and health care personnel helping your daughter and the family. Having a medical emergency out of country would be such an overwhelming challenge and prayers for help and understanding when dealing with the various insurances etc. Hugs, Pam
Such good news, Teresa...I know how relieved you must be...wishing her a complete and speedy recovery...
I'm so thankful for her progress. Still praying and will continue until you tell us that she is up and back to her young self again.
What a remarkable young woman she is!! This is such happy news and although she is still recovering, just to hear her has to be music to your ears.......will keep her and family in prayers........
Must have been amazing being able to talk to your daughter. You have all been through so much. Hugs to you all
Dear Teresa, thank God for His healing mercies. I'm sure Kathie will go from strength to strength now that she is awake. The Physiotherapists do marvellous things to help our bodies return to normal. Prayers continuing for you all. Love Chris
It must have been wonderful to be able to speak to your daughter! Please know, she continues to be in my prayers, as well as you and her family!!! So hard being so far away!! Hugs, Laura
I know you were overjoyed to speak to Kathie. Do they have any idea what was the cause of her illness? The unknown or not being diagnosed is very scary.
They know that she had what they call strep pneumonia, we call it pneumococcal pneumonia. But they do not believe that was the sole cause of the sepsis/septic shock because she declined so rapidly but they were not able to find another cause for it. So I guess it will remain a medical mystery. She was in a medically induced coma for 14 days while machines breathed for her and they tried to clean her blood of the infection. Her lungs took a huge blow and we don't know what the long term outlook will be there but for now we are just happy she is still with us. Right now she is fighting to recover from the paralytic drugs that keep her totally immobile for 14 days. Now she has some movement in her legs and feet but is still working on the rest of the body. The road back will not be an easy one but we must pray for patience and let God heal her in His time.
Hurray for her to be able to breathe on her own. That is a huge step in itself. We will all be continuing our prayers. I know it is a long tough road for her hubby too. Please keep us updated regularly.
So happy for you. What a relief to finally hear her voice. Will continue prayers for healing, strength and comfort. DebB
