Now that's a fabulous heirloom for your family! I can't imagine how much work was put into this restoration, but the results are fabulous! I hope you put a label on it somewhere so that future generations will know the story behind this quilt!
WOW! The work in this is wonderful. I don't have that kind of patience.
Thank you all for the lovely comments. Update re quilt, Today was delivery date. The Mother loves the quilt. I also made a 16 by 16 pillow cover and Pillowcase. There wasn't enough to make 2 pillowcases. .
Thank you for looking & Happy Stitching!
I LOVE taking things apart but I can not imagine putting these quilt blocks back together again..... a GREAT job and looks wonderful!!!
Beautiful memories and a work. A wonderful hand me down.. So special to have.
I think restorations are much more difficult then creating a new quilt. You did a wonderful job and I am sure it is much appreciated
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. It was work but enjoyed doing it for the family. Happy Stitching!!!
Beautiful restoration. This quilt deserves to have a lift and more love poured on it.
Beautiful quilt. Lovely job restoring it. It should be treasured. Thank you for showing us. DebB
What a labour of love and a great restoration. The person who receives this will cherish it always. Love Chris
I hope you were well paid, so much work! Still looks lovely. I thought you re-quilted by hand, but then the top thread is blue and backside has white thread...... A very nice job.
What a wonderful gift of love and legacy. I have a few oldies, but goodies at my house. My favorite is an almost totally rotten silk crazy quilt from 1903 with all the little specialty embroidery stitches. It has the initials of the recipient, the year completed and the number of pieces in the quilt!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful quilt. A lot of work restoring it but worth it
