I'm with you. Housework, ugh! This past weekend, we had several of my husbands coworkers and their families over for cookout/pool party/bonfire( yes we were very careful with the fire). We had lots of fun, but the cleaning before was trying. My husband says I go overboard, but I like a clean house! Got the refrigerator cleaned out but not the freezer. I am a little afraid of what I might find! Great find of the ham bones.
Ha Ha.... I know about freezers!! When I was 8 months pregnant with my last child I HAD to clean out my chest freezer but with my belly I could not... what to do... I got my petite sized 13 year old to put on triple socks and plastic bags..... then 'get inside' to wash out and dry the freezer. As a one time job she had fun slouching in the ice and water LOL
Oh my! In a former home with no trash service, I used to have to burn my trash. When it was time, I bought up hot dogs, buns, marshmallows, etc. and rounded up the neighborhood 10 year old boys. They tended my fire and had a weenie roast! File these two ideas under "How Moms get work done."
Yes , I understand. I went through frig and threw away out of date items and filled up the trash can. I may get to the freezer next. You are one stept ahead of me! Kay
Hurray on the successful treasure hunt. I guess we will all be over for soup with that many ham bones. hehe You beat me to cleaning out the freezer. Mine desperately needs it.
MMMM.....are you going to make bean soup? My favorite.......
We have a little gremlin at our house who continues to hide stuff on Jim & I........it is so maddening!!! Glad you found your ice bag!
Ham and white beans and stock, Vidalia onions (Sweet) and a few assorted veggies. And I have some lovely rolls for a go-with tonight.
Somehow housework has come before the fun of sewing with me today but I'm happy with the results. I have seen a small piece in the UK news of a woman who defrosted her freezer and found a curry at the back. On defrosting the curry to cook and eat she found her husbands lost wedding ring. Enjoy making your soup
