WOW ! What a wonderful bag. Your DIL is going to absolutely love you and it.
I would like to say thank you for not only sharing but for the details you shared. Really appreciated.
Thank you and Your welcome, but I did make a mistake in the description. The pattern number is 1519 NOT 1619.
just love it, I want one too. I know Kiwi has a sale now, so good time to get this one. How did you make it so wide. I didn't think the purse was what wide.
its not the design that Toni posted on the Kiwi site, I just posted the correct one. The front of the bag that you see of mine above is a whole panel. The back of the bag is another whole panel. Each panel has 3 hooping's. If you look close to the right side that has "Santa's Shopper" on the top, you will see a lime green piece of fabric (with candy canes). That was the only addition I had to make on my own to get it to fit the Simplicity pattern. That piece extended the whole front side out about an extra 1 1/2" or so. I could have just taken up an inch of the pattern piece vertically down the middle, and at this point I wish I had, would have been a lot easier than adding that side piece to it. But the panel is quite large. I used my 8x12 hoops for each single panel. You sew the 1st sections in the hoop and unhoop it. Then in another hooping you sew the 2nd section. As you finish the 2nd section, you attach the 1st section to it. Then unhoop and sew the 3rd section. As you finish the 3rd section, you attach the 1st and 2nd section to it, thus making it as big as it is. The actual completed panel as sewn as its supposed to be, before making a purse out of it, is 15" wide and 9 1/2" high. Its pretty big.
Love your sense of humour and the bag is gorgeous, well done. Love Chris
what a fun and great purse this is! I'm amazed at the amount of thoughtful details you have added to it. Lovely work!
May i ask how big this bad measures out when finished?
thanks! wow that is big... also i meant bag and not bad... just realized that i had a typo back there!!
They are so cute. I think they are an awesome gift.
That is such a fun purse. Love the way you managed to get embroidery in the right spot. DIL will love it.
These are the cutest purses! They look like they would be time consuming to make, but your work is worth the effort. I love all of them!
Thank you Penny. The time consuming part for me is trying to fit the finished embroidery onto the purse pattern. I had to tweak the embroidery by adding 1 extra piece down the side seams. The actual sew out for the embroidery was fairly easy, just a little time to make sure all the pieces lined up right.
What a Stunning project you did!!!Love it!!!!Well done Beautiful!!!
Delightful work and I'm impressed that your so sorted for Christmas
