great news my pr655 brother entrepeneur embroidery machine is on the way!!! be here in a few days, im so excited !!! and broke... i don't know how to get started, i need to know ( you cuties that have or had a 6 needle ) what kind of needles did you use? and what kind of bobbin thread , pre wound, or can i wind my own. i read the brother website it said the reason it recomended pre wound, was the fact they were wound tighter, less thread breakage, ??? i need to know so i can buy some, get ready to sew when it gets here... i think i'm wound a little to tight !! where is the cheapest place to get them, i have always used organ needles, got them from the sificticated stitcher, but have never used pre wound bobbins, PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN, I NEED TO KNOW, YOU CUTIES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SO HELPFUL, THIS OLD BIRD NEEDS HELP!! LOL DORIS

You're so funny! The bobbins will be tightly wound, so you don't have to be. I'm so excited for you. You are going to love love love having that beautiful 6 needle machine. I only use the pre-wound class L bobbin I don't wind my own, I use my Ellsimo if I need to match bobbin thread. That is just the choice I made. I buy all of my embroidery supplies from Allstitch. It's very convenient to do it all in 1 spot. I use Organ needles and have had no issues and Madiera thread. Don't be intimidated by the prewound boobins. They look, feel and work like bobbins you wind yourself but hold more thread. A nice feature for a large stitch count design. Now relax and enjoy your new machine. You will not regret being broke.

i don't think i will unwind until my serviceman( friend of many yrs.) gets my machine going and helps me figure it out. i feel so blessed to have him help me. he retired this year so him and his wife agreed to come get me going, i got some pre wound bobbins i'm going to try. do you use the titanium needles? hope you won;t mind me picking your brains about this new venture of mine if i need advice, its better if you really sew on one , other than just fix it .i will try not to be a pain, thank you , can't wait for it to get here, altho im a little scared.... let you know how i do , doris

Whee! Have fun. We'll see you here at Cute eventually, when you come up "for air" from stitching. Happy for you, even broke.

Congratulations! I just got my Baby Lock Valiant 10-needle about a month ago...I love it so far...I just looked up your Brother pr655 and it uses the same Class L prewound card board sided bobbins that my Valiant uses...and it will also take Class L metal bobbins you can wind yourself...I bought these bobbins (link below). Even with shipping, they were the best value I found...they work great...Metro Embroidery also carries Class L cardboard sided pre-wound bobbins, but shipping made them pricier than these...Organ needles, and I have been told that we can use the same type Organ needles that we use for our Brother/Baby Lock combo sewing/embroidery machines...Have Fun!

That's great...I only wind my own bobbins using the Class L metal bobbins when I need to match the bobbin thread to the top thread...Once you get the hang of assigning the needles and their colors...you've got it made! I do not use titanium needles, I use the chrome needles.
