This may be a silly question, but when you make a fringed design, what keeps those threads from pulling out?

The wide satin stitches are anchored by a straight stitch or a narrow zigzag, so you can cut them without mishaps. Still a bit scary to do, but a well-digitised one should give no problems at all.

I think you have your answer below, but I wanted to show you the first one I did. I was so scared to cut the bobbin thread, as I stitched it on a bought tote, but look at the difference when I did. Before and after photos.
This cheerleader design is still free on page 3 of the free designs, but they also have a fringe flower on page 1. PM me if you want the site.
Good luck with your project.-Toogie

Here's a beautiful tutorial done by none other than Miss Veronika herself.

thanks. The longer I embroider, the more often I run across things I don't know. The love of learning.

They are just beautiful and so fun to do. Do a few samples to get confidence and following cutting directions carefully. You will be delighted with the results and can then see how they are held in place.

I'll have to try that. I just can't help myself worrying about pulling a thread and it being a wreck.

They are digitized different. I used one Miss Veronikas design and you can pull on the threads and they will not budge. Would not want to cut the bobbin thread on a design that does not indicate it being a fringed design.

thanks. I just picture me cutting the bobbin threads after working hard on a design and it all pulling out and ruining it.
