Toogie, you did a beautiful job with this...I love the fleur de lis design...perfect for any gentleman!
Thank you, I thought man or woman would like this and it would also be good, at home, for remotes and such. My daughter wants one for her DH. She says he comes home, his shades are in one place, wallet in another and so on. She actually text me photos .-lol
WOW that is awesome.. and thank you for the instructions. Nothing homemade about that, very professional.
Thank you I sure am happy a Cutie shared this idea with me and I could in turn, could try to help you all out. Hope you can make one for someone's Christmas.
This men's tray you'd done looks great &sure the men will appreciate it too. Will have to remember to make one for my dear husband's birthday too. Thanks for sharing your story about the retired general you'd met& your work too. :~D
I'm glad to know you plan on using my directions for making one of these. Let me know if you need anything.
Toogie, This is an awesome gift! And as always, you have done a perfect job. I'm retired now, but used to travel a lot as part of my job. I have one of these that I always took with me to hold my jewelry, etc in the hotel rooms. Packing it flat was easy... it would fit anywhere. I'm sure this is well appreciated. --Sharon
I actually may make one, for the woman traveler, too. I hope the men will come to appreciate them, even if they don't at first.
On our Maine trip, we only had one woman that came up to the front of the bus and thank us for her gift- She won the the travel journal I covered, with the lighthouse embroidery. And then of course, the woman who pleaded with me, for my Maine lobster/lighthouse bag I had been using all week!-lol
We will see how appreciative any of this group will be.
One man was a retired Army general on that trip. He was deaf due to war but he was so courteous and seemed so kind. His wife died suddenly a few months ago, unexpectedly....He never spoke a word to me but would offer the way, ahead of him, but I would always refuse and wait until everyone got off. At the end of the trip he surprised me when he said, "He hoped the next time we meet, he would be able to hear." I found out he was going to have some kind of implant surgery, when he got home. I hope if he did, it was successful.
Love it Toogie. Wish I had more time, but may make one when I get back home from Italy for Trevor at Christmas! ❤️ Chris
Yes, just in time for Christmas AND planning another trip so he can use it!-lol-Have a safe, relaxing holiday!-Toogie
Love it for sure it is a square then what have you done please explain more to me lol hugs
This is a brilliant sew/stitch out Toogie. I absolutely love it and the fact that it can be laid out flat. I'm not sure if you know, we leave for Italy tomorrow for 3 weeks and this would have been a great addition to Trev's toiletries bag. He has a store bought one and this one surpasses anything I've seen. GREAT JOB! Love Chris
High praise, but not deserving, this was so simple to make. I have my vinyl ready for my 4th one. My niece loved this and told me there are 8 men on this trip. I will make an extra 1 or 2 just in case.
As I said before joansatx/Cutie gave me the suggestion. Can't thank her enough.
You will have to make Trevor's when you get back....for the NEXT trip!-lol
This is an extrordinary gift for a guy! Amazing what a little change here and there can make something look so different. I can't figure out what you put on the corners to pinch them together. Whatere it is, it gives it a nice manly touch! Good work!
jrob is right,Kam Snaps! Did you look at the pictures of it in Community/Chat about the gifts for 35 people?
Lovely idea toggie... the fleur de lis design fits perfectly with type of fabric and style too.... do you mind sharing the links to where we can find the pattern (i know you used your own, but the ones which you were offered?) thanks for sharing... hugs maria x x
It is a wonderful idea! Looks very professional!
I thought it did too, not because I made it, but what I mean it doesn't look 'homemade', like some people frown upon. Thanks!
Awesome gift and wonderful idea...Work done...Stunning!!!
Thank you Sonja, I think the wives will like it too, especially if the men are scratching the furniture swiping their change up.
Great gift for the men. Love that they pack away flat too
I do too, but I think maybe I should downsize it just a little. While I like the size to hold their wallet, change, keys, etc all in one spot, they may not have enough space where they will sat the valet on. What do you think? The bottom is a little less than 9 inch square.
Different sizes would make a great idea even better! You could make them nesting to keep things even more organised. I would use one about half the size to keep my watch and Ventolin in next to the bed.
What a lovely idea love the vinyl
I like the vinyl too, Carol. Unfortunately yesterday, when I went to see Avery, I went by the store and they didn't have anymore like this. I had to get black and it's rather smooth, where this brown has a little texture.
What a good idea for a man gift Toogie!! Looks absolutely great!
Thank you & I cannot thank joansatx enough for her suggestion. I should have also said, the reason for snapped corners, in the morning when you pack your luggage, unsnap your valet and it packs flat, so it won't take up space or sides be crushed. I love the brown vinyl too. I think it looks rich, even though the photos are not too good.
