He must be a very special boy. What a nice idea.
Thank you, he is, sew him practically grow up from a baby everytime I see him in church.. Now he is 6 years old and loves helping his dad baking.
This is a lucky young boy! He will love that apron but also I agree the lettering would be more visible on the not checkered fabric. It happened to myself some time ago when I did an apron for my grand nephew and his sister. But it's looking good and is a great gift. Hugs - Maria
Thank you, Maria, one has to learn from our experience. I wish I have the discipline to sew more, but this time of the year in Germany is really pulling me down. But seeing the projects from you cuties inspire me. Hugs, Mary
Using a check fabric is very "manly" for a boy and a brilliant choice! You really got everything lined up perfectly too. Nicely created!
The little boy will be thrilled to wear his own apron, well done!
Hugs, Lidia
I think he will love it Mary. I love the checked fabric, it reminds me of a picnic tablecloth. Very nice of you to make for the child.
Thank you, Toogie, I love check fabrics as well. Only have small pieces given by my SIL so could not make it into a table cloth. But I still liked it as an apron.
I do not think that a little boy would pay any attention to the thread color. I believe he will like it. Words always show up better on plain fabric.
I agree with Angie, it would have shown up better on the solid color pocket, or use a red thread for wording, but that's for next time. This one looks fine.
