I absolutely ADORE this one Lidia. My, your work is outstanding and I know you always say your machine does the work, but your putting together of them all makes such a spectacular piece of art, and it is art, as we can all look and admire it. Well done, love Chris
Wow, thank you, Chris! Every design by Sue is a piece of art. I have been inspired by a photo from Jo Lynch who has used hundreds of these inserts to create a fantastic, spectacular tablecloth, and I made a doily to fit my largest hoop. Thank you again, Chris.

What was the stitching order of the motifs...left to right, center four motifs then sides, or ???
Top row: left to right; then continue with bottom row: right to left. Easy!

Lidia excellent stunning and beautiful doily. And so very nice.Wonderfull work Hugs Stella
Just out of curiosity, what kind of machine do you have and used for this? Also what is your embroidery field? Hoop size? I know I'll never own one, but was curious.
I have and use the only machine I own: Husqvarna Topaz 30 and its largest hoop measures 20x36 cm (or 200x360mm), 8x14" approx. I bought it 8 years ago and it's still going.. Hugs, Lidia
It is really an outstanding piece! This delicate lace will enhance any décor. Wonderful job!

One word Gorgeous!
This is perfection. I love it. You must have the most beautiful table covers every where.
Thank you, Toogie! Sorry to disappoint you, I use my doilies on the surface of furniture, not on tables..
Hugs, Lidia
That is what I meant. We have coffee tables, end tables, buffet tables, etc all furniture here just wording different, I guess.
I love this!! You have so many ways to use designs and they are all stunning. Did you use a cotton thread and what weight of thread? This would take days to crochet. I wonder if a very fine crochet cotton could be used for something like this. Just wondering...may have to spend some play time to answer my own questions....hehehe. Enjoy your projects and be blessed; you certainly bless all of us by sharing. Avis
I have used Madeira rayon thread for machine embroidery, 40 weight. It isn't crochet. I have used an embroidery software to get the single design repeated eight times with a little overlapping and then my embroidery machine has stitched it out in one hooping, without any problems.
Thanks for your comment, Avis.

How many spools of thread did you use? or how many times did you change the bobbin? Just wondering as it's good to make sure to have enough thread before starting such a large project. My thread source is a 1 1/2 hour drive from home!! Blessings, Avis
I have just seen your comment above, Avis. I have replaced the bobbin thread about six times and used the top thread from a 5000m spool. I suppose that one 1000m spool is enough for the whole doily. There are 126376 stitches in this doily. Hugs, Lidia
I have checked how many metres of thread you need: 361m, a bit more than a third of a 1000m spool. Of course, you have to use the same top thread in the bobbin as well, so if you have a full spool, it's more than enough to stitch this doily out :-)

So pretty. It must have taken quite some time to stitch out but well worth it
It took a couple of afternoons while I was doing my home chores. It has been very easy to stitch it out.
Thanks for your comment.

Another Excellent job***when i grow up i wanta be just like you hugs:):)
LOL.... thank you, Carolyn!
By the way, this doily is very easy to put together in your software and stitches out without any problems. You don't need long instructions.

Beautiful work! It must be great to have a big hoop...
It is, Bejoscha. I bought the machine with the largest hoop I could afford and that was eight year ago - I'm happy to have followed the suggestion given by many machine embroiderers.
Thanks for your comment.

Lovely...just lovely....lot of stitchin' there, girl!
Yes, lots of stitching but without any problems whatsoever. I would stitch it out again any day :-)
Hugs, Lidia
An amazing piece of work. Just how long did it take to stitch out and did you need to rethread?
It took two afternoons while I was doing my housework chores. The only thing I did was to replace the bobbin thread when necessary. The design was easy to stitch out and didn't have problems. Thanks for your comment.
