I think your idea of a road trip book is great. I think the design was made for it
Thanks Sarah, each part is a different design. I found the bus in old files, added a frame I found there too, and put in the letters to make the words.
I made my friend Trudy, that decided to go too, a journal. She has already been to 48 of the states (just hasn't gone to Alaska or Hawaii), but could have filled this up over the years. She still can, as they travel to two different states, going through more, to their children/grands.
Thanks for looking!
Awesome design!!!Great project done...Gorgeous!!!!
This is a really cool journal, Toogie and yes the bus is perfect for the front!!
I was so excited to find it in my files! My niece came yesterday and ' claimed' this for her own- I laughed and said, well Happy Birthday. Today is her birthday. She said this was one gift she wanted for herself.
Well done, Toogie, it looks ever so pretty and will come in very handy for the lucky recipient!
Thanks mops,I would have rather not embroider a patch, but knew the embroidery would not show up on this fabric. I thought of making one without embroidery, as I do like the back.
You have done a lovely job on this. I will be very handy for the person lucky enough to receive it
Thank you, I hope to make more later today, but I am waiting on Trudy to come over this morning. She is going to tell me if she is going on this trip or not! She is a slow decision maker, (me too sometimes) but a great friend and if she goes at this late of date she will be stuck sharing with me a hotel room each night-lol
Great job on this Toogie. They always come in useful, either for an adult writing down things to remind them of where they've been or for kids to draw in to stop them from getting bored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love Chris
Right Chris, like I told Sandra below, what an experience! Not only the places we went, but the getting there!
Toogie, great work and very practical. Sandra.
Sandra, I had made me a journal, for the last trip to Maine. My niece would see me writing sometimes. She told me she wanted to read just what I had written, because we had a bus driver from _ _ _ _. The poor young man couldn't see, couldn't read directions, oh my! He would run out of his lane, enter highways that clearly said 'No buses or trucks allowed'. She thought what ever I wrote had to be something worth reading later, as it was not at all funny, as it was happening.
My niece had to give him a 'talk to', when we arrived at our hotel and call the company about his driving. It is a great responsibility carrying 40-45 people and you need to feel safe. We are not sure how he qualified for the job.
In defense of the company they take bids from bus lines for the trips, so you don't always get the same bus line, but if your tour guide/host doesn't report the company may go with this bus line again.
Great idea and well done
The lady on the Maine trip won the journal, with the toile lighthouse and boat, and she really liked hers. Thanks
Great job...very useful too...is this done ITH or ???
Thanks but no, not in the hoop. This book is 9 3/4 x 7 1/2 a composition. My outer piece, the black and white front and back, I cut 11 x 16 1/2.
