Great you received the help you needed. Just want to welcome to Cute
HI Mary, I'm so happy you finally got to open the bear file. You've had some great answers and as Sue (spendlove) has said just ask anything, someone is on here 24/7.
By the way I just wanted to add my welcome to you too. Love Chris, Newcastle, Australia
I never was able to get this pattern from the original site but thanks to you guys I did download the software you suggested and got it to open and convert from that
Thanks so very much,
Mary
Welcome to Cute! I see that you have had some helpful responses to your question.
Please let us know how you get on. Don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you like! We love to help.
I believe it was from the Bearly Makin It Yahoo group...it's no longer posted there...if you have the other formats, use one of the free converter programs (TrueSizer is one) and open one of the other formats and re-save it as a .Jef file with a new name...Here is a link to the free TrueSizer download...

Thank you so much. Yes, I got it from the Yahoo group. I have only been playing for about a year so I am still learning everything. You and the others have given me hope. I have never tried changing formats so the link you gave me is especially helpful.
Hi Mary...glad to help! Let us know how it goes...I have this design, too, and it is for the 4x4 hoop so size is definitely not the problem...If you need help learning the TrueSizer program, I believe there are some YouTube tutorials out there...and big welcome to Cute!
Do you have a software program where you can convert from one file to another?
If you can open it say in PES for example you maybe able to see the actual measurements maybe too large for your hoop size. or too many stitches.
If all looks good then convert that file to JEF and give it a slightly different name so you can identify it from the original.
The Bear looks familiar but I can't place it at the moment.
No I do not have a software program but thanks to dragonflyer I now have a link to one. I am very computer literate so this part I should understand. :) It is doing the actual embroidery I am learning and struggling with. Thank you very very much for your wonderful help. It is always so great to find people are as nice as I believe they are.
The design is from Bearly Makin It site. There has been no activity on the site for a couple of years. I believe the site owner Debbie has been looking after a ill relative.
If you have free program ARTSIZER FROM OESD you can load other formats in and SAVE AS Jef.
Hope this helps you.

I do not believe her site is even up anymore as I cannot find it using her address. Though I do not know her I hope her ill relative gets better. As the other 2 ladies you are a God send to me to answer my newbie question and I want you to know how much I appreciate you taking the time to do so.
