Gotcha! I believe you will not do that again! Glad you took quick action and already on the mend. Back to stitching for sure!
A bamboo skewer is better used to guide things close to the needle and if is hit by the needle, it doesn't hurt..
I keep forgetting where I put mine down. So have had a few near misses.
Is it all better now?
Ouch! Be careful it doesn't get infected. Glad your project survived!
It did and did NOT get any blood on it.
I started working with it in and made sure it moved and massaged as it was swelling. And some lavender essential on it. Swelling is gone and no longer sore. If it got worse and looked like infection, I was prepared to go to the doctor!!!!! Nothing to play with. Thanks and GOD bless you.
I know how this feels, it hurts ( did this a few years ago....) recover soon !
Thank you..Tonight it feels good. It will be interesting watching the nail grow out. It did hurt for the first day or so after I tried to stitch it!!!! Was really weird that it broke the needle. Just glad it didn't get blood on the project...that would have made me MAD!!!! Thanks again and GOD bless you.
That does look so painful. It's happened to a lot of us, I'm sure. I know I've done that and it made tears well up in my eyes. Soak it in a bowl of ice water to help with the pain and swelling.
I'm glad to know I am not the only one who has done this. I hope it is my last!!!! It didn't make tears come to my eyes, but it DID make bad words come forth from my mouth----oooppss.....I never even thought of soaking it in ice water----wow---that is great to know....I hope it never happens again, but if it does, I will soak it in ice water IMMEDIATELY. Thanks and GOD bless you,
Oh no!!! That's gonna hurt a long time! You finger looks so inflamed that you probably should keep a close eye on it in case it gets infected.
I'm always afraid that if I get my finger under the needle that the high speed that needed goes it'd make a big hole in my finger before I could get it out from under there.
I think I was really lucky---I have finally realized the difference between sewing and embroidery speeds of needles---when sewing with a sewing machine you can control the speed of the needle and chances of running one in a finger is rather small-----but the speed of the embroidery machine---even on slowest speed----you have no control over it and it will go in your finger almost before you realize it. So guess I just need to be really MORE CAREFUL and keep the fingers OUT OF THE WAY!!!!! Thanks and GOD bless you.
Ouch and ouch again. Hope it gets better soon.
It feels much better----I made sure I massaged it and did work it out a bit on the computer keyboard---and was prepared to get medical attention if it appeared to be getting infected----and "parkermom" suggested soaking it in a bowl of ice water to help with the swelling----I love Cuties---I ALWAYS get the help I need!!!!! Thanks and GOD bless you!!!

A big ouch!!! Sorry you managed to hurt yourself but a gold star for not damaging the project.
It was a big ouch---it is so much better now---I was going to write earlier but workers at the bottom of the driveway working on cable wires and STUFF this morning, cut our lines in 3-4 places so we were out of internet all day----NOT fun---but they did FINALLY get it fixed and I can now PLAY!!!! Thanks and GOD bless you.
Hope it heals really well, love Chris
It is healing quickly. I have been watching it carefully and making sure I keep it active. I have even been doing a few exercises on the piano to help keep it limber. Thanks again and GOD bless you.
Ouchy, looks very sore, You will remember to keep it clear of the needle for a while..
It feels so much better now. It was VERY sore for almost a day. But I kept treating it and making it move, and it is much better now. And believe me, I will watch it closer when I am stitching and be extremely attentive to keep it out of the way.
I share your pain. You will be more careful now, at least for a few days!
I hope you have not had this happen to you. NOT FUN!!! However, a learning experience----that needle just comes down with so much force--just glad it broke the needle and not my finger------happens VERY QUICKLY---And I WILL be more careful----and I hope it is for more than a few days--Thanks and GOD bless you.
I feel your pain...I have don the exact same thing...the needle went through my nail bed and totally through my finger as it broke...Luckily, I was able to pull it clear through...lesson learned!
WOW and OUCH----I think I was very lucky that it didn't go all the way through my finger----it could have caused some major damage and more than likely needed medical attention---I just feel fortunate that it was not worse--all just happened so quickly---I heard something strange and saw the broken needle laying to the side of the pressure foot and then I saw the blood coming out of my finger and realized what had happened---I will be more careful!!! Thanks and GOD bless you.
Ouch! I also have done this but did not break the needle. Hugs
That just makes my stomach flip over and then back! Bless your heart. Bet you don't have to be told 2 times to keep your finger out of the sewing field.
I can not even think about it without getting the willies. Hope it heals soon.
Ouch!! I have done this twice! First time it went straight through my nail and out the bottom of my finger. Very painful.
