These are huge potholders I have been making this week. They are over 15 inches x 12 inches. We have our annual deer-widow craft party this weekend. The first designs are from Vicki at www.basketkasedesigns.com I can't remember if the last design is hers ? I liked it and had it loaded to my card. These are great for when you pull out a big casserole dish from the oven.

Very cute designs, and you did a great job. My sister and I don't have a deer widow time, but we do take the day after Thanksgiving to get together and do crafts, cook, and just hang out together. We call it girls day and do whatever we want. I look forward to it every year. It's funny, because we were not close as kids, and now we talk (text really) every day.

My little sister and I were the same way... she is 11 years younger than me, so we were never close. Now, we are best friends!

I like the way you framed and double framed the designs. Was that sewing machine or an embroidery file?

The outside frame is actually the back fabric. I cut it about 2 inches bigger all the way around, turn the edges under and bring it to the front. Then stitch it down with the blanket stitch using my regular sewing machine. Then stitch in the ditch around the other frame.
