Aargh! The workman who could not come or even schedule for at least three weeks, last week, called this morning to say he happened to be on my street and could come by and measure my project. I told him to give me five minutes - that was the mad dash into daytime clothing! Of course, I hadn't cleared the area where he needed to measure. Why do people treat good customers this way? I know this is just the start of it! Also, called a Customer Service at another company the other day and heard, I promise you, 21 different little "stall" recordings by different voices before I got a human. The poor girl who answered said when she arrived the computer notified her there were over 250 calls in the queue. I wonder how many people they had taking those calls! The one thing I learned is, don't call Customer Service the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Personally I think it is excellent that he fitted you in after saying it wasn't possible for three weeks. Apart from the gas man appearing quickly after one has called it is a waiting game. I'm not keen on the waiting on a phone line with ghastly music that I'm paying for

You are a better person than I am. I would have given up. I hope all goes well from now on and your project is completed with issues and in a timely fashion. I think calling any company now is an exercise in "Call Waiting" and it is us who are left waiting.

Wow, that's crazy. At least he called and didn't catch you in (say this in your best southern voice) your drawer tails.

Poor you. The sentence " Your call is important to us....." infuriates me. If you have to wait 1/2 hour before someone even gets on the phone that belies the fact how important one is. I hope whatever you have planned will happen without any obstacles or mishaps.

Me, too! One of my pet peeves. At our business, if someone that is designated to answer the phone, doesn't answer by the second ring EVERYONE is instructed to grab it, even the VP.

This morning I get to spend 14 minutes on the phone with Customer Service at the Garbage Dept. They didn't get my trash yesterday, but before I can tell them that, they have to confirm that my account information is correct (address and phone) and that it is paid up-to-date. I'll be on hold at least 3 times - my punishment for their oversight. Wow - this has made me grumpy.
