Oh my, have you ever taken on a task. A good chance to use up lots of fabric. When I die, my daughter will throw all mine in a dumpster. She will never take away the fun I had buying it. Kay
Oh my goodness. I hope she never regrets that. Tell her to donate it at the very least so it can bring joy to someone else. My mother threw out much of her mum's craft supplies and then regretted it later on when she wanted to take up some of the same hobbies. 😥
My husband jokes ( or not) that he will burn all mine and I just reply if he does, I will haunt him till he dies!- sewmum1 that is so unthinkable about your grandmother's craft tools/ supplies. Such a loss.
If you are going to do repeats, I loved your travel tray. I made one for my brother for Christmas... I'll post it in a moment. Coozies are cute and rather inexpensive and can be personalized as a group thing or to the individual. Whatever you do will be great, I am sure of that! I want to see pictures of everything you make as I have Red Hat gifts that I have to make each month... I need inspiration too! 😉
I guess we all need inspiration . Check out my post in Community. It has links to what I've made for other trips.
This is a great little tag! Do you need 58 different things? or can you do duplicates? Hankies? Fingernail file holder? I did Stitch Delight's and it was easy and looked great. Had to put an embery board in it so people knew what it was. Can coozies? Bookmarks? I make little wall hangings...make a 5x7 mug rug style mat to hang vertically, punch a couple of holes at the top in the corners, and put cording through the holes to hang it. I think I posted one once. A kitchen towel waist apron?...make a waste band, gather the towel horizontally and stitch it in the waist band and add ties. A set of 4 cultrey holders? I've seen some done in felt that would be very quick to make and look great.
Oh, don't forget sachets, padded clothes hangers, remember those things that were popular a while back that were neck warmers made from a little bag of rice or something that you microwave to heat?...things keep popping up in my head...
And then there's lunch sacks, eye glass case, door knob hangers, dammit doll, fsl gift box, infinity scarf, ME for soap, tea bags holder, napkin rings, insert Me into a window card, hot pads, ME on toliet paper (people love these), extra toliep paper roll cover...
Very nice...what about some tissue holders...they are quick and easy to do...
Looking good. You will be very busy sttching out all these small gifts. what about ith lip balm holder and the small zip purse to hold usb sticks.they also stitch out quite quick.
Thanks, my sis loves the small zip bags and so do I. We use them for nail file/clipper,tweezers or the usb sticks, or sewing machine feet, or she has bunch of debit/credit cards she sticks in hers. Anything small you don't want to search around for, in the bottom of your purse.
I made a bunch of the chapstick holders and they do stitch up quick. This too may have to be a repeat just hope the same one doesn't get it again!
If they get a repeat they can always swap but I know some things I like to have more than one
Toogie this looks really good, well done. Sent you a pm it maybe of help
Great start. That is a lot to do in a short time
You are so right! With all the ' monkey business' before Christmas I'm rushed now . It may have to be more duplicates from other trips.....
A great start Toogie but what an amount you have to sew. When is your deadline?
Looks great in this colour, but yellow would have given a better contrast. You can use all those cones with tiny amounts of thread left on them for your next projects. Making 90 pieces sounds daunting! Happy New Year to you and may your bobbin never run out!!
