I have to vote for keeping like they are, more masculine perhaps???
Great tags.
Decisions, decisions, lots of ideas, all up to you now. Me I would take the easiest route LOL/ Lillian
Toogie, they are fine. I do prefer the letters on solid. Great job, don't change a thing! Sometimes we are so critical of our creations. Hugs, Suzanna
Not sure how you made your straps (which look fine, by the way) but I cut mine 2X width I want, fold in half to make a crease, open back up, fold each side over to the crease, then refold on the crease & top stitch..no raw edges, You can make a long piece & cut them the size you want OR if you don't want the zig zag, cut to size & fold in the exposed end before you fold to top stitch, other end is inside the tag. Also you can put BOTH ends inside the tag & they can run the folded piece thru handle, put tag thru & it's on! (I THINK that's called a larks head knot??) Ask a Girl Scout, she'll know!
Your post does not "feel" to me like you really want to add more. I'd trust what you gut is telling you, and leave them the way they are. I do think I'd spray them with Scotch Guard to keep them cleaner and more readable longer.
My two cents worth. I like them the way they are. Very nicely done.
Tooogie, These look great, very professional. FYI I was just on the Creative embroidery site and they have a luggage tag all digitized!!! (free in the Dec. downloads. It says free until Dec 31 but it still downloaded for me on 1/3/18 at 11:00am. You probably already have yours done but I thought you might want to check this out--your niece will probably have lots more trips she would like to have them for.
I have that one thanks. They come with no instructions but you emb them both ITH, at the same time. I am assuming you need a button when finished. Have either of you made these?
Great adv'ing idea, but make sure your grandson know,,in case any luggage is lost and is returned to them!
Wow, good point...grandson may be getting some calls or luggage inquiries should anyone lose a bag...
They should have their address filled out on reserve side, but if not the tour company provides tags for each bag with info on it, too.
Toggie, I think they look great as is. I do like the words on the plain fabric, easier to see, but like the idea of the birds on the other side. Keep up the good work, I'm sure he will be Thankful for the ad. Great idea. How nice of you to take your time to do this for him. :)
just had a look at the web-site and now I know why you have the beautiful birds on your fabric. Great idea Toogie, the tags and the free advertising.
Thank you , I found this duck fabric in my stash and that's when I thought about doing the web site on it. My grandson is a co partner and hunting guide. He also trains the dogs to retrieve.
A clever idea.
Satin Stitch on the strap would the tag look really classy but they are freebies which are very nice.Plain fabric under the lettering I think is a must,so people can easily the web address.
Thanks for your thoughts on this. I do agree about the solid fabric so the reverse side only has the ducks.
I like it as it is now and I think it has less chance to fray. I guess it would be faster as well.
Nice idea to promote the business. May he need a lot and keep you busy ;)
Oh I don't want to make any to sell, I have enough to keep me busy. Just wanna get the word out there to help them.
Don't beat your self up! You are not selling them. They look just fine.
They look great. I do like the finished look of the satin stitched edges however I am also a big preserver of time, fabric and stabiliser, so for me I would keep them how you are making them. Also this way it draws more attention to label rather than the strap, which is a bonus advertising your grandsons business
They look great, Toogie...and if you decide you want the strap digitized with the tag...let me know...it can all be done together in one file...or they can be done separately...your choice..glad to help!
I wish I could do them TOGETHER in one hooping but alas, I am limited to the 5x7. :( poor me
I know you are always so helpful and I do appreciate it. Thank you. Let's just wait. I might be asking for more work than I have time to do.
This tag you'd made looks fine but, might consider changing the color of the lettering to a darker color thread perhaps as it seems to blend into the fabric print. What a thoughtful way to help your grandson& sure his customers will enjoy your labor of love too. Have a blessed New Year. :~D
Well maybe his FUTURE customers.
The print was the first one I did, and you're right, it doesn't show well. Then I just put the duck print on one side and emb the solid side.
