That is a lot of stitches for such a small size, wow! I can't believe it turned out this great.
The satin stitches always have a high stitch count, but I agree it's quite a lot in total. The underlay under the whole lot makes gaps less likely and I am very grateful those did not occur!

Twelve towels sounds like a shipping order to me. Well done to you on your efforts, embroidering towels isn't fun and sorry you and your seam ripper have spent too much time together. Unpicking towelling isn't fun
They look beautifully done despite their "attitude" that resulted in the need to "straighten" them out with the seam ripper!
