Yesterday's and today's and tomorrow's challenge was and will be to begin making sense of the sewing room again. Since last February I've not been going over the stairs to sew because of the knee issues. So, I've been sending my son up with little bags of fat quarters and tools and Salvation Army shirts and blouses and jackets, oh, my! He piled my cutting table, as instructed 4 feet deep in stuff that only a stitcher could love. (Okay, I did it.) So I've begun to sift and sort through - which shirts to stitch which projects on, which shirts to "cut down" for cotton yardage - hey, 20 cents a yard for cotton versus $14 a yard. This feels like one of those Herculean tasks. I have some really fabulous fabrics and projects lined up. Not quite ready to sew - need to carve a bit more space out around the machines first. But, I'm getting there. My first project(s) will be ITH quilted table runners using colors one son likes - greys, browns, soft spoken greens. Also, some blue toned ones. These seem simple enough while I remember how to hoop and stitch.

If it's still close to hand next Christmas, that's okay.

You go girl!
You can't keep a good woman down, (for long), so as long as you're feeling up to it then the time is right.
Sounds like a lot of fun. :-)

Nothing like getting back to stitching!!! Good luck in straightening out everything - My craft room is upstairs to - makes it hard when my knee or back is hurting! I am happy you are feeling better!!!

Congratulations on feeling good enough to start back sewing. That is always a good feeling to me. Sewing is my "happy place." Wishing you patience and perseverance in sorting everything out.

Happy Place should be the sign on the door.
