great pictures, lovely purse. I think I saved this one as well [long before I knew what ITH meant]
lol, we were all like that once! Thanks for looking at Nora's bag. We have been hibernating, so I haven't seen her.
That is just stunning Toogie, I love the colours , I am just trying to get my mo jo back .
Hugs Pam
O'my, what an adorable bag.. She will love it even if it does not have sweets inside. Can just see the big smile.
Can't wait to give it to her but with snow on the ground, temps in the teens, and her sick, it will have to wait. Thanks for looking.
Stunning!!Awesome design..Gorgeous work done!!!!!!Love it!!!
She's going to be so excited! It turned out lovely and you may have a request from the piano teacher for a zip bag too.
Yes, I thought of making Carmen one (without the strap) too. I didn't text Nora a photo of it or she would have wanted to come and its too cold. They are sick too so they don't need to get out. I need to make a post about Avery but I will tell you this. Her teacher text that Avery will be riding on their float, in the Mardi Gras parade. She was chosen Mardi Gras Princess at her school!
Aah, that is so cool.. Love that she is the Princess, so special. Hope you post pict her on the float.
It is one cool bag. It is sure to please. Great job on spoiling the Grandkids!
Not spoiling, I haven't made Nora anything since her monkey at Christmas. That was 3 weeks ago!-lol Thanks for looking!
Adorable!!!! I am certain I have Sue's design - something on my list of things to stitch!!! Well done!
Great choice of colour and lucky Nora
She hasn't came today as we have had bad weather and they are sick, too. I want to surprise her.
Ooh! it's gorgeous Toogie. I love the colour Purple and the movie of the same name is my all time favourite movie too. You just have to ask any of my kids! Nora will love this, great job and I'm glad you saved the design just in case one day you might use it! Love Sue's designs and her engineering mind. Love Chris
When I first started I didn't have but a 4x4 and didn't know for sure to save the larger designs, but I'm glad I did start saving them. Now I save everything!-lol
What a great project! Gotta love that fabric too. Thanks for all the photos so we could see how you did it. I like the idea of using stippling on the back. I'm not quite sure how you did the handle. Is that a "ribbon" on the underside? Or something you embroidered?
It is a ribbon on both sides. I cut the strap 2 1/4 inch x 14 1/2 inch, because that's the length I had left. (wink-wink) Fold & press long raw edge to center, then fold & press long outer edges together. Just like you do most straps.
I tried to center the ribbon and zigzagged each long side down the length of one side of strap. I flipped the strap over and then added the second ribbon, stitching with my back & forth stitch, maybe called a stretch stitch on your regular machine.
Thanks for explaining! Using ribbon for this is a good idea that I'll remember to try out.
If she does not like it send it my way Ha, ha. I love it. Love purple and play the piano but not too well
