grannycottage...If you are not seeing the image of your sewing files, do not run the Iconizer...open Embird and then just open your sewing format file in Embird. I think you will find that after you do that, all of the other stitch format files will appear as proper images in Windows File Explorer...that way your text will not change to the very small font...it's kind of a drag to have to do this, but it is better than trying to change the mini font size back to normal....
Thank you, dragonflyer.
Currently, I am not yet reconciled with the iconizer and Iconizer plugin is disabled. In Manager, I use the function: preview of the index of embroidery files.
Ah...I use Iconizer mostly as a viewing program to see the image of my sewing files in Windows File Explorer...I have other digitizing programs that sometimes override my preference for showing images of my format files in Windows File Explorer...when that happens, I would normally run the Iconizer program to over ride and show my stitch file images in Windows File Explorer from Embird, but now when I run Iconizer, it minimizes the font size in my Windows File Explorer...if I just open Embird and then open my stitch format file (.Pes) it will convert all of the sewing format files to show in Windows File Explorer without changing the size of the font...so I can have the use of Iconizer and not run it from Options to "activate" my stitch files to show the images...hope that makes sense....I can now use Iconizer to see my stitch files in Windows File Explorer without running the Iconizer refresh from Options in Embird...I did not realize this until recently so I no longer activate Iconizer from the Options menu in Embird....just open my stitch format file in Embird after I have opened Embird from the shortcut on my desktop...
....so open Embird from the desktop icon and then open a stitch format file from Embird...then all of the stitch files will show images in Windows File Explorer....
Thanks for your help. I solved the problem by not activating the iconizer and installing the Embird32 V10.25 version. According to Dusan Balara, Embird does not change the size of global font setting in Windows.it seems to be problem of Windows 10.
Despite this inconvenience, the important thing for me is to be able to use Font Engine and Sfumato.
Good embroidery.
Hmmm...I don't know about it being just Windows 10 with the problem...the only time this happens is when Iconizer is initiated...to me that is also a problem with the Iconizer interface with Windows 10...I think Dusan Balara should investigate further as to why this ONLY happens with Iconizer is used...I have encountered the same problem with Iconizer...I think something in Iconizer is triggering the font size to change...What is the point of having the Iconizer if you can't use it properly?
Fully agree .It's nice to know you're not the only one to experience this problem....
What did you do to avoid this inconvenience?
For Dusan Balara to take care of the problem, he must be informed by all those who have difficulties with the iconizer.
I have written to him and am awaiting a reply...I have to change the display size from 125 to 150 and then re-boot my computer and then change it back to 125...but I have to do this every time I run the Iconizer from Options drop down..for awhile, I did not realize it was Iconizer that was causing the problem...All I can say is that if Iconizer is the ONLY program that causes this problem...it is not just a Windows problem...it is also an Iconizer interface problem...
This may be due to changes made by the software. See if these instructions help:
Type Font Size in the search box.
In the Display window that appears, choose the Medium font size (125 percent of the default size) or the Larger font size (150 percent of the default size). If you don't like those settings, you can fine-tune the text size to your liking by selecting the Set custom text size (DPI) option.
Use the Display control panel in Windows to adjust the appearance of text.
I have noticed on your picture that it opens the explorer in windows. From there you change the way you see them by clicking on " View "
The image is correct but it is the inscription (the name) of the image that poses a problem. The "vew" option affects the size of the image but not the size of the letters.
Have you tried clicking on View (Beeld in my Dutch version) and then extra large? Makes a great difference. I am still using Windows 8.1, 10 might be a bit different.
Many thanks for your help. I have installed 2017's 64-bit embird. The problem I encounter in exploring (names of documents or files that are unreadable because they are too small) occurs after setting the iconizer. I read all the FAQ but I can not find the solution. Here is a picture of my screen.
On the Embird site there's a download button for older versions - it does not say which and it did not work for me. Try that. If it does not work for you either contact Barudan, they are usually very helpful.
Did you save the .exe files of Embird (I keep the latest and penultimate versions in Downloads and on an USB stick just in case)? I am still using Embird 2017, build 10.25
