I tested a few of the files. I use "save as" in Firefox and downloaded the pes format. I can open them in 5D, 6D and Embird without problem and I can transfer them to my machine without opening them first using a USB stick / flash drive.

I tested all the designs you listed in .pes. They were all fine except 847561 -- it must be an incorrect number as I cannot find it on the website or in my own files.
I wonder if there is an issue with your software (an update?) or computer as we haven't had other recent complaints. I know in the past, we have had quite a few users have trouble with Adobe taking over embroidery files. Once the file association is corrected, then all is well.
This comment will bump the post back to the top. If other subscription members have time to help -- perhaps they can also check the files you listed and maybe they will have other ideas.

In answer to your question below:
No, but none of the Cute files come in PDF. It is possible that a recent Adobe update took control of all file types not assigned to other programs. Right click a file and choose "open with" to see what program opens it.
Is is possible you clicked on an advertisement instead of an embroidery file? That has happened before to a few other new Cute members.

Might you be using Chrome as your browser? My sister had this problem on another site and switched to IE Explorer. Please let me know if this works.

I use Chrome without issues here. It would have to be another setting or preferences set by another program like Adobe.

Welcome to Cute! There is a post in the Q&A section that will help you understand how to download. It sounds like you are trying to open the designs. You must have special embroidery software to view the designs with your computer. They come ready to send to your computer unless they are in a pack.

I have Embrillance software. Are you telling me that these design on this site will only work on this one software?

The sewing format files are standard sewing format files and should work on all embroidery software types...Lots of Cuties use Embrillance with no problems....I think Rescuer might be correct...if all your .Pes files look like Adobe Acrobat files...then you need to select one and have Embrillance open it...there should be an option to have Embrillance open all .Pes files...once you do this, your thumbnails should change back to .Pes files...

I'm using Firefox browser.I tired opening the file in Embrillance.I get an error message and it can't open then.I download lots of embroidery file from other site and have never had this problem before.
Clicking on pes file on the design and save file.Have tried using the open file first and Adobe comes up.The files just don't seem to be formatted as embroidery files.

Perhaps you can take a screen shot of your Windows File Explorer page showing how the .Pes files look...we might be able to help if wee see it...
