Bang, bang, like gunshots in my yard this hour. The little transformer on my power pole blew and showered down sparks. It must be spring, because power loads are shifting. Strangely, I still have power, so it must have shifted to another resource. I can't say anything nice about their responsiveness. I like spring when it's about the twittering of the little birdies and the blooming of small flowers. (Quince and daffodils and narcissus and Oregon grape (mahonia) are going right now in my yard. UPDATE: Squirrel did it.

I'm glad you maintained power. Amazing how those little bodies can do so much damage to the grid. I wish I could enjoy the flowers with you, but I'm delighting in the many trees that are beginning to show off their leaves.

I was thinking half way down your article if it was a squirrel (Ha Ha), We had one knock out power this fall. I had 4 gray squirrels, now have three. Jealous of your flowers though. We just had 2 ft snow. But 30's all week, so hope winter is over.

We probably have at least 60, so I won't miss one. Ideal habitat - pine trees, woods, water sources nearby, etc. I see the deer have nibbled down the early daylily growth. Would not take 30's as a sign winter is over - that would be the depths of winter here! The last time I saw 2 feet of snow, I was six and visiting grandparents!
