Sadly thieves will often strike a second and even a third time, if they left anything of value behind, if it was an easy target and they met no resistance.
My son's house was hit three times and the thieves gained access from a different point each time. The scary thing was the last time it happened they entered the house at the back, while he and his family were sleeping, and they would have walked right past all the kiddies bedrooms to steel my son's laptop, cd and dvd collections, (what was left over after the previous thefts).
The thought of what could have happened if one of my grandchildren had woken up..............................
Please advise your son to get some video surveillance cameras, or a security system, even installing (visible) fake cameras will act as a deterrent as long as they have a little red flashing light on them.
I really feel for anyone who has had their home violated by such low lifes.
Meganne, It is so sad to think of all this happening to our loved ones!!! Our son has already contacted a security firm and it is being set up. I just know that the knot in his stomach is for what could happen to those little ones of his.
Thank you for sharing your information...passed on to son.
Yikes. How horrible. I think the feeling of privacy having been invaded has to be difficult. After an experience like that it would be hard to feel save.
yes, that feeling of violation has the family a bit taken back. He said that now he is so vigilant about looking around, even around the neighborhood.
If it was a random thing, they may need to be very vigilant for some time. Many thieves that find "good stuff" will go back when the Insurance has had time to buy new items for them. Have them ask the police if this is a thing in their area. We moved the last time thieves helped themselves at our place.
This was an off the wall robbery and the police believe that one of the companies they used within the last few months has a criminal for an employee. I pity said employee when he/she is caught.
I am so sorry to hear this. I hope they get things sorted soon. Hugs
Thank you....so do I. I also hope they soon get a little more relaxed back at their own house. Feel so helpless with them being almost 3 hours away.
How awful for son as well as for you. Prayers and hugs.
So sorry to hear this. Hope all turns out well, a lot to deal with now.
sorry this happened , must be awful. Hope they will get over this.
Tragic...so sorry to hear this, Teresa....Hope no one was hurt....
Fortunately no one was hurt but the violation of ones space is awful.....the hurt in my son's voice says a lot. He said that he feels helpless in protecting his young family, told him he is doing a wonderful job and to keep at it!
