Big Job and well done!! Just saw this.
so you quilt it on embroidery machine each block and then you put it all together?
WOW!!!! absolute and excellent stunning love the quilt
Beautiful! I am a want to be Quilter so I am in awe of all the quilts. I think my mother used to call these counterpanes. She had two solid white ones and made my sister and me Easter coats one year. I treasured that coat for many years. My coat was so unique.
Like Dolly Parton's "coat of many colors"? Whatever our moms made was always special! Those memories are a treasure.
This is really beautiful. Your colouring is perfect. I haven't been successful with wax crayons and I'm now experimenting with Inktense.
Thank you. This was a first time for me after seeing a tute, and my blocks were so old I was going to trash them at Goodwill anyway. I'm very pleased with this first attempt.
I love it! Such a unique way of design and quilting. It must have taken quiet some time...Life has been too busy for me to even start a quilt....
Thank you! 'Quilt as you go' might be my new love. Hand quilting is what I do, and it is so relaxing to have a small square to work on ...anywhere... rather than sitting under a frame. And I've added machine quilting designs for borders--I am liking the combination.
You are definitely "Awesome"!
The word 'awesome' is over used in present times. It means something I truly wish applied to me. But as I've explained before, I intended my "handle" be as above...aw someone(1), but my fingers typed the wrong spelling. Hence the 'awe'some. It was too late to correct when noticed. So I will have to remain awesome--and that is not so bad, is it?
I have done this type of quilt, (isn't it fun), just beautiful.
Beautiful quilt. So glad it did not get trashed!
That is truly a magnificent quilt! Very elegant!
Gorgeous, Know you are glad you finished it. Great job.
Yes, I was anxious to see it finished. But will do it again if I come across more orphan blocks!
Should have ask before. Where does one find a quilt block to color? My daughter would absolutely love to do something like that.
What a great idea, it turned out beautiful and I love how you quilted it.
Wow, this is fantastic aswesome1, I love the quilting, it will be cherished. Love Chris
Beautiful Quilt. Thank you for sharing Happy Stitching
What an Awesome Stunning Quilt!!!Done Excellent job!!!Beautiful!!
I like the soft pastel look of this quilt and the lovely hand quilting. There's something about hand quilting that steals my heart. I've used crayolas with children to make a qulit when I taught 5th grade. Brought in my iron...none of the kids had ever seen and iron before!...and they learned about ironing. I brought in my sewing machine and taught them about sewing. it's a great way to teach children about quilt making.
Very nice. Looks very delicate.
Thank you..yes, the colors are soft and faded looking like "antique" might look.
Beautiful! I have not used Crayola for coloring...I know you heat set the colors, but how will it hold up when laundered?
Thank you..it was fun..like a child with coloring book! I'm told it should be laundered in cool water with gentle detergent, but I see no reason it could not go into the dryer. The colors were set with hot iron, paper towels to absorb excess color and oil. But most of my bigger quilts end up in trunks and cedar chest! Smaller quilts go to charity.
