Looks like you got a lot of good tips...let us know which one worked the best...If you find you need additional help, PM me as I have a micro font that I could use to digitize whatever you need...
I have had very good luck with the little fonts from Jolsens.
A 50wt embroidery thread works well for those small designs. But usually I go for Arial as a font or for Script and lower the tension - Embird has it standard on 4.0, I prefer 4.5.
But I must confess when in a hurry I use the predigitised tfonts in Husqvarna/Pfaff 6D.

I went searching on my cp and found at some point in time I bought aset from Oma but had never used them. Will try them. Thanks
Lower the density on your Embird fonts..when doing small fonts, you want to make sure the stitches are not on top of each other. Try that or PM me and I will see if I can help
I don't use Embird so can't help with that. I have used some Fonts from Designs by JuJu that stitch out nicely. She has several that come in multiple sizes that start out at 0.5 inch.
