janome uses JEF format. I have to laugh, I have a font called "love letters". On my computer DH found a file called loveletters.JEF. He could not help himself but ask about all these files "from" JEF, especially the love letters. He must have thought I was cheating. Honestly, if I was, don't you think I would hide the evidence better????
libster...I am cracking up...that sounds like something my DH would do ;) You have made my LOTD=laugh of the day ;) *2U
Another Aussie with a Janome 300E. I haven't ventured into giga-hoop world yet, but have one in my drawers somewhere. Would love the Janome 11000 but Minnieb wont hand it over. I hear the Husquavarna Viking Diamond has a 24x36cm hoop. Someone at cute has one.
Minnieb won't hand it over hon??? LOL Sometimes TIME has a way of WEARING a MAN or WOMAN down...LOL ;) *2U
Mine is a Innovis 1500D! We both are a good team. The largest Hoop is 6 x 10, and her format pes
I have the brother 270D the disney machine (I've been trying to do a review in the machine section, but can't figure out how). Anyway, the file format is .pes and the largest is 4x4 -- I am dying to get a larger size done for the back of ladies denim jackets, but can't afford a new machine and like the one I have.....
I have
a Designer1, largest hoop 150x360 (6x14), uses disks;
an Viking Iris, 100x170 (4 X 7), uses embroidery cards. Both take .hus, .vip and .vp3.
And I have a Brother 190D, 100x170, .pes, which is going to my daughter.
I have A Brother PE-150. My largest design size is 4x4. My file format is PES.
I have 4 hoops for my machine.
Yes thank you for the ***. I have the medium hoop that came with the machine, a super hoop, a very small hoop, & a hat hoop.***4u
I am new to this site and new to machine embroidery. All of you know so much I will surely be looking for some "mentoring". I have Brother SE 350. Ped Basic with a vikant 4mb rewritable card. I have the 4x4 hoop now but, planning on buying the bigger hoop a.s.a.p. I'm a school bus driver so it may not be until school starts in the Fall.
I have a Brother PE150 I tooooo wish I could stitch ANYTHING larger than 4X4...someday???
I have a Husqvarna Designer1. I can use all formats since I have the 4d pro software and I have the 10x10cm and 15x24cm hoops that are continuously in use and the mega hoop that is still packed (I actually dunno what I'm waiting for to give it a try)
I have a BrotherSE270D I use .pes format and my hoop sizes are 1½" X 2, 4x4 and I also have a large hoop that gives me a 4x6 space for split designs or multihooping. I will love to have more space, but I am happy with mine for now. I can't do big designs but, can always combine many small one to get a bigger area embroidered.
I have the Janome MC300E and love it. I have 3 hoops, the biggest one being the Gigi Hoop. You have to use split designs but that is OK.The other hoops are, 5"x 4.3" and 5.5" x 7.9"
I have a Simplicity Americana series that my DH gave me last year after Christmas( we had a fire in our house on the 23 Dec.) it uses a pes format. I have a 9x5, 6x5 and 4.5x3.5 hoops. I just completed my first project as a wedding gift. I'll try to post the picture soon.
Sorry to hear about the fire and THANK GOD that you are STILL HERE. WOW you got the hoops...ENJOY I PRAY that the Lord will RESTORE unto everything that was lost and ADD ABUNDANCE to your life and love ones...Be BLESSED ;) *2U
I have the new Viking Diamond. The largest hoop is a sewing area of 13.2x14.8. No, I haven't done anything that large! It came with 3 other hoops just a bit larger than the other standard hoops Viking has (ex: 100x100 is 120x120) & I have the 5x7, the tiny litte 40x40 spring hoop and the endless hoop. I use the hus or VP3 formats , BUT can use many of the others either through the machine or through my 3D program. 4D organizer came with the machine, so can do things with that too. Only thing I need is more TIME!
I have an Elna Xquisite 2. Hoop sizes are 2 3/4"x2 3/4" - 5"x5" - 6'x10" plus it has a continuous border hoop (And it does Multi-hoop).
I believe this is one of the few machines that you can actually create Text, on it's own or added to a design, from within the machine, it has 6 stored alphabets to choose from. You can also import huge designs and split them into multi hoopings in the machine. Plus it allows you to rotate by as little as 1* increments, flip or mirror, merge and edit, reduce or enlarge and change position all from within the machine. It shows each individual segment, stitch count, thread colour, overall stitching time left to complete and individual segment stitch time left to complete. One of the best features is the blackout feature which retains your design and allows you to recall it in case of power failure or because you may need to finish the design at a later time. It has automatic bobbin winding (while you are embroidering) so if you run out of bobbin, it stops, refills the bobbin, then starts sewing again all without removing the hoop. It also has automatic top and needle threading, when your eyesight is poor this is a brilliant feature. Also when it changes top threads it moves the hoop away to make it easier to get your fingers in to catch hold of the new thread. And it's ordianry sewing features are incredible, it even has a removable knee lift for hands free operation when you're working on corners and such, great for quilting.
And if you think I absolutely LOVE this machine, you're not wrong. I could not have made a better choice. (IMO)
hugs n roses to all my friends in Embroidery, M
Oh, I forgot, the only drawback to this machine is the .EMD format and that it uses, the now defunct, SmartMedia Cards and its production has been discontinued since Elna company was taken over by Janome.
I have a janome 300e,Seem like most of us aussies have it's great 4x4 sml hoop & 5x7 lge. there is a bigger hoop available & 1 smaller & a cap hoop for the 300e.I have already enquired at janome.
I have the janome 300e & love it. 4x4 sml hoop & 5x7 lge . Sometimes a bigger hoop area would be nice but we make do. Daughters think they will inherit if I upgrade. Sorry girls, I will never part with her . :)
there is a bigger hoop available & 1 smaller & a cap hoop for the 300e.I have already enquired at janome.
I have a janome 300E, hoop sizes 2" x 2", 5"x4 3/8", 8"x5 1/2". there is also a 8"x11" but I don't have that. JEF or SEW format, but I also have Embird to convert other formats.
I have Brother PE700 5x7 pes and Simplicity 4x4 pes. I love them both . A flower for you.
I have the ULT 2001 - 100x100mm, 130x180mm, 160x260 mm also have the Giant Hoop-it-all ...I use PES but can convert any format with Embird...
Main baby is Bernina aurora440 QEE, largest design size is mega hoop, but I don't have it. That would be a 400x155. (also 4x4 and 5x7)File format is .ART but with Artista Software, I can use almost any format...which is nice and it also will resize and adjust stitch count to correspond. ;)
Huskystar em10 and the hoop is 4x4, format is vp3 or HUS. I also have Babylock Ellure Plus, I have 3 hoops with it, 4x4, 5x7, 5x12, format is PES. My favorite is still my Huskystar. Maybe it's because it is user friendly, who knows.
Viking Designer SE with USB direct connect. That alone makes the machine worthwhile. Don't have to fool with floppy, memory stick, read/writer stuff and etc. Hoops: 100x100(4x4"), quilters 150x150, 150x240, mega hoop(which I have never used). Since I have 4D Extra I can use almost any format. However, hus,vp3, vip, and pes is what I usually download. I love the machine and software. I admit I don't use the software to its fullest potential.
I have Brother Galaxie 2100, tiddly hoop to jumbo ( hardly ever used) pes format. Jo
I have the Janome300e and I have a giga hoop for large designs
I have Janome 300E and 9700. I use the 300E most of the time. The 9700 is too heavy to move about and my dining room table is both sewing and cutting table. Plus I bought the 300E first (first love). I do love the color screen on the 9700. largest hoop is 5x7 and JEF format.
I have a Brother PC-8500 with a 5x7, a 4x4, and a small hoop. I also have a 6x12(?) that I can reposition, but I haven't quite figured it out, but I eventually will. I also got a Hoop-it-all when I bought the machine used.
I still have my old machine also. It is at church right now, so I can't check, but I think it is a PE-350? It is the portable one where the table fits over it to make the case. The embroidery unit has a seperate case all to its own. I LOVE that one, even though it can only do 4x4. I didn't get rid of it when I got the new one, because it is so easy to take places. Up to church to work on quilts, to classes, etc, etc...
Well... with the super hoop, you can get simplicity designs that show you how to reposition so you can do the bigger designs. The bigger designs are done in separate stages. I have never done it myself. But I am with that understanding on how to do it.
I have a brother pe 700 5x7, got it from kensewandvacumm.com online...will NEVER do it again.had lots of problems with the machine and the money I saved from buying online I already spend it on repair, after the first five weeks. Still have a funny noise, but I will continue using it and see what's next.
Sorry to hear of all the problems the machine has given you. I am hoping that everything will work out for your good ;) *2U
I have Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 usb Hoop sizes are 4x4, 9 1/2x6,14 1/2x6 . I want the enless hoop and mega hoop someday. I also have 4D Embroidery extra. I use HUS,most of the time and VIP,VP3,SHV are my formats I can use.
I have $D extra so I can use any format I guess, Haven't used it yet still learning but that is what I am told.
I have a Brother Innovis 2500D (D for Disney) I use Pes format, and my largest hoop is 6.25"X 10.25".
I have a Bernina Deco 330, hoop size 5x7 and use PES format. I'm very happy with my embroidery machine, and on the odd occasion I wouldn't mind a bigger hoop. *4U
I have a Brother Disney SE270D I use .pes format and my hoop size is 4x4. I love my machine but I would like a bigger hoop. Flower and XoXo
Another satisfied customer...in time your dream will come true for a larger field ;) *2U
That is why I got the new (well to me) machine. I wanted to do a bigger area. I must say it has come in handy while embroidery on these quilts.
I have a Brother 180Disney 4x4 size format pes Also have a Babylock Esante 4x4 and 5x7,6x10 format pes I really used my Brother alot. Just got the Babylock 2 months ago
Viking Designer 1 with 3 possion mega hoop 360X150. I also have a basic Bernina and a Juki surger.
I have a Janome 350E. The design format is JEF and the largest hoop I use is 5x7. I have Embird so I can convert almost any design format.
Pfaff 2170. My 4D software can convert anything but ART, primary format is VIP or VP3. Largest sewing field is 250x225 but that is the Grand Hoop. The designs have to be split and the hoop rotated to do that size. I never use it. Largest field I actually use at home is my 5x7. I also work on 12 needle Renaisance machines at work. The hoops for those go from 4" to a full large jacket back. I have never measured the jacket hoops but they are huge!!
What is she afraid of? MIL has a 2144 without software. She's 83 yrs.old and PC phobic. She uses it to make quilt labels, which I designed and loaded onto her machine. What a waste of a great machine. I told her I have dibs on that one when she leaves this earth. Not a problem because no one else in the family even sews, much less does embroidery.
Maryjo it may be technology because she is use to the basic. However; I will gladly take it. I got my MIL old armour that I use to always say I wanted. I repainted it and replaced the broken mirror and my FIL says it looks new...Enjoy ;)
I have a Bernina 185E which I use primarily use for sewing and back -up embroidery and "My Love" a Bernina 730E for embroidery. It comes with a tiny hoop. a 5x7 hoop and a 6x10 hoop. I also purchased a mega hoop ( 400 x 150) which I think is about 16" long which I rarely use.
Viking Rose, 4x4, HUS. Was upgrading from a 1949 Singer slant needle straight stitch only machine. At that time, zigzag was just starting on the very, very top end, about 5 times more expensive or worse. So this time I went for embroidery as well. But then found the forums and should have gone for at least 5x7 or more! Also might have done differently about combination vs. 2 separate machines. Just started using the embroidery this past fall but bought the machine before they came with anything but proprietary cards.
Alrighty Viking lady...I remember my gm old Singer machine...how I wish I had it now ;) *2U
I have a Babylock Ellegante & athe largest hoop is approx 12 x 7 "
Babylock Ellageo3, 6 1/4 x 10 1/4 or 160x260mm,pes
Brother 270Disney 4x4,pes
My Ellageo was my first, and then I was given the Disney machine. It is a great little worker. Chugs right along to embroider nicely, and I use it a lot for regular sewing. So portable.
I have a husqvarna designer 1, the big hoop is 360x150mm, I think it does 10"x6"
The files format are HUS or PZS but I have succed to open SEW or XXX.
Singer Quantum Futura CE-200, 4.5 X 6.75 hoop size. I can use any format but I try to stay with .pes
Monica, I have a Babylock - Ellegante2 - with a 7 x 11.75 inch hoop and my format is PES.
Hehehe! I also have the very small hoop, a 4x4, and a 5x7. One never knows what they might need to stitch out that perfect embroidery design.
Janome 300E, 5x7, jef. I love my machine, wish the hoop was tiny bit bigger, but I can downsize designs with my Janome Digitizer Pro.
Husqvarna Designer 1 USB 14 x 6, ususally VP3 but have the 4D embroidery software so I can convert any file format into mine (usually).
Husqvarna Designer 1, 6 x 14.2, VIP or VP3, 3D embroidery software. Hoops can't be big enough, that's for sure.
Singer XL6000, 5.5 x 9.5 largest hoop... definitely NOT big enough, that's for sure.... but LOVE the machine!
Hey teri, did you know the Singer XL6000 is the Sister machine to the Elna Xquisit 2. They both come from the same production line of Juki Int. hnr, M
