A prior post brought up a problem I often have. When buying from a mall, just how do you know who designed the embroidery? Some malls are easy for me to figure out. At other times, I don't recognize the initials of the designer, especially if I've never bought from that designer before. Often the pdf or txt file will have that info somewhere, but not always. Somestimes I want to know who created the design before I buy it as well. I've learned to put the mall's name in the title if other info is not available, but that doesn't help with finding out just who digitized it. Does anyone have any tips for doing this?

The designers have their own pages on the malls. You purchase from that designers page. At least that is what happens on Oregon or the Secrets of embroidery. The same with All Sew Crafty. I don't know of any places where you just purchase from the mall. They are just the selling outlet where the digitizers pay a percentage of what they sell.

If you keep your purchase receipts from the malls you will find the details on there.

That works for some malls, but, unfortunately, not for all.

Which of the malls doesn't it work with? Would be handy to know.

For one that I but a lot from is Embroidery Home. Some of the designs have initials, but not all; or I don't know the initials or what the numbers represent.
