If you have set Embird to open your designs you double click on the design rather than open the program first. The program then opens the designs in the correct hoop.
Thanks, but I don't want Embird to open in the "correct size" hoop. I want to set the default hoop to a specific size and have Embird always open to that size.
I forgot to add that Embird always opens in the 4x4 hoop now regardless of the design size. I want to change that.
That is very strange as when I double click on a design from my folders(in windows) to open in Embird, it opens in the hoop appropriate to the design size.
This becomes a problem when I merge designs in Editor. If I have a smaller design and Embird puts it in a small hoop, the hoop size does not change when I merge a larger design to it.
No in the case of merging designs you would have to change the hoop size yourself.
I found how to do after many hours of trial and error and frustration. I did a custom hoop size and checked "keep hoop size, do not adjust." But then the hoop showed up in Manager. I was able to make the hoop disappear in Manager...but I can't remember what I did! I was just clicking everywhere to see what would happen.
I have several machines and use such a variety of design sizes it is easier to just save to the hoop size I want to use. The program tells you if the design won't fit in the hoop so easy to change it then.
I always choose the size of the hoop when I am looking at the design and save it then. I usually give it a number after the file name if it is a different size hoop to what came up first.
From then on it will always open in the correct size hoop.
If I knew how to set it as a default size ( which sorry I don't) I would probably have to change it anyway as I don't use just one size design.
Not much help to you I know but will put your question to the top.
