Thought I would share them with you... The one with the farmer and the sign was submitted to a country magazine.

I admire those people for their strength and endurance. we should learn from them as we are growing in a world that is not going to be able to sustain us for ever. we need to know how to surviveas they do we need to teach our children also or more so as we loose all the skills we need if we don't pass them on. I want to be as selfsustaing as i can possibly be.

Very nice. I grew up in an area that had a good population of Amish and it was wonderful.

Here's a little history... I used to go to Chicago every 3 weeks and some of my friends had family in So. Indiana. Well I decided to go down there one time and was able to "hang" with Amish for 3 days. I even went to a woman's house for dinner! What was so cool about that, is that you see them around town, but to actually be invited as a guest into one of their homes and actually SEE the culture up close... amazing! They taught me a lot, that's for sure. My friend's cousin has known some of these Amish families her whole life, so the trust factor was there... I think they were as enamored with me being from California and Jewish (they had me pray for the meal too) LOL... (Messianic Jew, thank you Jesus!)... don't think they had ever met anyone like me before. :-)

Well, Teri when you go to Indiana and visit the Amish? There are lovely pictures and I always thought that they didn't like their picture taken or allow them around - you have some fine pictures of their culture. What sort of camera did you take your pictures with?

Thanks so much for sharing those pics. It's hard to believe that they have still managed to hang on to their customs in todays world. *4U

They sure do look peaceful. I also would like to have lived a life like that. Tho I have lost lots, I still have lots. Is life just not too fast paced at times? Thanks for sharing Teri. *4U ><>

You know i think i would enjoy being Amish, except for some of their more ridiculous restrictions (do they still not use electricity? ) I would prefer to live that slow-paced outdoor farm lifestyle, I used to once, 28 years ago, hand milked my cows, made my own butter, baked bread, had chooks, horses, sheep. Can't afford that lifestyle now and I really miss it. Thanks for sharing Teri. hugs n roses, M
