I have always used Brother bobbin thread for my Brother machine, and never really paid attention to it. Well, I realized that I have two spools, one 60wt and one 90wt I think I've only ever had 60wt before. Will I need to change any settings to use 90wt? Thanks.

Looks like you have gotten some good advice below...I would agree with all of it...I use prewould bobbins that are 60wt. If I had 90 wt bobbin thread, I would use it for delicate fabrics/embroidery and small lettering as Martine has suggested...

Thank you. I'm grateful for the advice from cuties.

Some machines automatically adjust the tension. So I would test stitch a design with both and compare. If you need to adjust use your manual and take notes.
The 90 wt would be great to use for tiny details/lettering combined with a 60 wt embroidery thread on top ( and a finer needle like 60 or 70 instead of the usual 80).

I always get a little nervous when trying something new but I need to get over it and just explore the differences. Thank you

I think the 90 wt is for use on dainty projects such as handkerchief names and that you would need to use light weight thread for the designs. I wish I could remember, but my dealer had this light weight bobbin and maybe your dealer would be able to help you if they are selling it. Perhaps you'll get better info from other cuties. Good luck.

I do not have a answer. How about just sewing and see how it affects your stitches. If you have fancy stitches on your machine I would try with them.
