28 Mug Rugs - Going to a reunion of Missionary Kids whose parents served in India...it's been 60 years since I last saw some of these people!! I made mug rugs for everyone by using the basic pattern from Oma's Place and the Scripture verses are from JuJu and SewBird.

Thank you. They were well received and I was blessed in return as each person shared why they chose their particular verse. I'm still receiving comments from some of them. God gets the glory as we share our abilities.

If you go to "Oma's Place" and scroll through her free designs you will find this mug rug. It's done ITH and she has instructions. I deleted the centre part of her design and added free verses from JuJu and SewBird. Give it a try and show us what you make. Blessings.

Thanks, and, YES, I am awed by the whole project. If you are interested, go to my FB page and you will see a picture of the MKs (without their spouses) and one of the missionaries that I remember arriving in India just before we left to come home to Canada. 59 years ago!!

Beyond my expectations. We are often reminded that "Little is much when God is in it!"
1529I never dreamed the outcome of this simple project. I had made (28)...enough mug rugs for everyone including the spouses that were in attendance. I came home with 3. I was so blessed as I stitched these all out; I prayed for God's guidance in choosing the verses...and I was blessed as they stitched out. At the reunion I put them all on a table and let everyone know that they could pick whichever one they would like. Later, I had the idea that I'd like to know "why" each person chose what they did. We had a devotional/prayer time the next day and each person brought their mug rug to that time and told why they were taking them home. I was in awe and in tears at how these became blessings to the others, but then again, a blessing to me. This project was well received and God gets all the glory. What a wonderful retreat this was.

I think I'm just going to put them on a table for display and let everyone chose one they like. All the verses are different and perhaps they will find something that is special to them. Most of us have parents waiting for us in heaven.

I needed something that wouldn't break and would go nicely in the suitcase. I also used up many pieces of fabric and emptied quite a few spools of embroidery thread! The designs were free and to be used for gifting.

Thank you. It really was a work of love. Many of the verses were so meaningful as I recalled learning them when I was one of those MKs.
