I was wondering what all you other stitchers use for your sewing chair - the one at your sewing machine.

i have very little space, so I use a medical stool with big wheels to spin from one project to another.

What do YOU use?

I'm like most of the others I use Office Chairs to scoot between my machines and the Computer. I also have a Stool I use sometimes that twists.

By the dressmaking I sit on a normal wooden chair, my embroidery machine see on the drag of an old kitchen cupboard, the perfect height to embroider in the standing position... we sit everybody too much.

I have a Henry Miller Aeron chair what was sized for me...It has every kind of adjustment you could possibly think if...I love it...up until then I had problems with my back because I would sit so long without the proper support...it was expensive but worth the price....

I use an office chair and an exercise ball for when my back is giving me problems. My physical therapist recommended it and made sure I had the correct size with proper inflation.

I just have a dinning room table chair, but I find I stand up just as much as I sit.

I use an office chair just like Chris's and bump into some obstacle now and again when I turn around as my space is rather cramped.

I bought my chairs from Koala but I have a problem. I have carpet in my room which made it difficult to move them. Now I added a office mat to put on top of the carpet, but sometimes the wheels make an indentation. It is too difficult to take the carpet out, because of all the Koala furniture etc.

I, too use wheeled chair (almost white and low and lady-like)to go between two machines, plus one wooden office chair across the room. But, for some things, I stand. I have church supper tables in the room and one is on those kids' beds "stilts" from Wal-Mart to ease my back when cutting fabrics.

Hi Jan, I use office chairs with 5 roller wheels on them. I have two chairs one for the computer in the right hand side of my room and one at my sewing machine on the left hand side of the room. I am lucky as my sewing room is 7 metres x 4 metres (nearly 23 feet x 12 and a bit feet). Love Chris

Chris, wow! I love that you have the two ends so you can be designing as you are stitching. We have the same machine! Love your chairs. I think my room is just 12 X 12 feet and packed FULL. I did get a little chair that won't take up too much room.
