I buy my large reels from Marathon in Melbourne as well as tear away stabilizer and wash away. Prices and quality are good. I have also bought threads from Theda in Brisbane never had a problem but someone on here did have with that brand of thread.
When the Australia dollar was very high I bought a lot from America even with the high postage it was cheaper but not now.
For needles I buy from Janome Everton Park you can order online if you don't live close.
Hi Narelle, I buy my threads from my two sewing machine shops here in Newcastle - Thorpes and Zigzag. I buy Robison-Anton threads from the Newcastle shops and I buy Hemingworth threads from Echidna in Brisbane. When I need needles Meg gets them from America in bulk and I pay her.
When Shirlene was on here I bought 116 Metro threads from America. I paid her and then I of course had to pay for them to be posted. The postage from America to Australia was horrendous but I'll never run out of 5000metre thread spools. Love Chris
Organ needles. If I run out and need some quickly I buy Schmetz needles. Love Chris
I'm in northern NSW on the coast.
I agree with threads from Marathon Australia http://marathonaustralia.com.au/
Stabilizers and needles from Echinda sewing centre at Capalaba.

Thank you. I am hoping to get to the show but maybe looking after the grandkids for school holidays.
I also use Marathon thread it is a very dependable thread at a good price and comes in a large colour range. I have every colour.. I'm in Sydney.
I also obtain all my threads from Marathon Australia. They are based in Melbourne and Sydney. I deal directly with Melbourne as it is closer to me, and actually visit the show room. Suzi is always most helpful to my needs. Have been dealing with her for quite a few years now and nothing is too much trouble. They have a complete range of lots of things. You can get a catalogue and colour chart, or all is on the net. It is good to have a colour chart at home, to compare with what you wish to embroider. I use both Rayon and polyester thread, and have never had a problem. If you require any more details send me a pm. Sandra.
Needles from Echidna, brisbane, thread I am changing to polyester, its much stronger, from Marathon Australia.com.au , also had rayon ones from Royal embroidery supplies , both in melbourne, I only use the large cones, have got them all over internet...wendy
