Great job, love hand quilting and the scalloped border , I don't to as much quilting as I use to.
Very pretty for baby girl. I love the hand quilting and the scallops. Please tell me what you mark your stencil with? I used a blue mark-be-gone on my black white border to mark diamonds to hand quilt. I then hoped it would spray out, which it did, after several 'sprayings'.
I commented before on this but I was on my phone...sometimes I forget to hit the submit button,,,,,
LOL, I forget all sorts of things without even being on the phone! I used a Fons and Porter water soluble pencil that I picked up years ago. Like you, I've found folks' definition of "water soluble" varies immensely! Funny how on my test swatch it came out without any effort at all! I first tried a fabric eraser that was in the package of these WATER SOLUBLE pencils - which should have given me a clue just how much would be needed to get the marks out. It sorta worked but I needed dapping the lines with Dawn dish detergent and a good long soak to get the marks out.. In the past, I've used those blue air or water erase markers and find the lines disappear only to come back a few weeks later. Hope this helps.
Very nice quilt. You did a great job on the scalloped border. I still have to try this. Thank you for sharing. Happy Stitching!!!
Thank you. I used Elanor Burns' (of Quilt in a Day fame) Vines and Scallops ruler, watched her video and it was really very easy. I hope you give scallops a try and let us see how you do!
You did a fantastic job. I love the scalloped edge. It seems to set off the rest of the quilt along with the pink binding.
The scalloped edge finished off this lovely quilt perfectly.
Thanks so much. It took a lot of courage to cut the scallops along the edge AFTER MONTHS of quilting. LOL! Figured with my luck - that would be time I really messed it up!.
Very very nice the scalĺoped edge looks perfect
Just love this - love the colors and design!! Well done! Hugs, Laura
Thanks, Laura! The Mom wanted a "traditional quilt". You can't get more traditional than a variable star, I guess.
Those scallops turned out perfect. The whole quilt is perfect. Well done.
Well done Deb, I love the hand quilted quilts, but I don't like doing them!! Hence mine are always machine done. This is so pretty, I've only done 1 quilt with scalloped edges and you are right once done they are easy to do. Love Chris
Thanks, Chris! I grew up with hand quilted quilts That my great grandmother had made on my bed. So to me, quilts were ALWAYS hand quilted - but then I've been quilting for 40 years - long before I ever dreamed of having an embroidery machine that could do the quilting for me.
Wow that looks fantastic. So neat and perfect. Well done.
Beautifully done...love scallops!
Thanks, Kim. I like them too, now that I know they are easier than I thought they'd be!
