WOW! WOW!! and WOW!!!! That is all I am able to say as I am speechless. Take a bow Chris - it is gorgeous!! You have a good eye for matching threads and fabric. Oh and BTW - if you are stuck about who to give it to (wink wink) ……..
Hi Coral, long time no see. I hope you are well and looking forward to Christmas. Thanks for your lovely comments.
I hope to finish this once Christmas is over!!! You'll have to stand in line I think if you also want this he he he! Love Chris
Oh wow, Chris this is absolutely stunning! Not just a quilt for a work of art! I bet everyone in the family will want this one! Such an amazing job! Hugs*, Deb
Thanks so much Deb. I know they all think it's gorgeous, but I'm not sure who will want it when I'm gone! Love Chris
Wow Chris that is looking fantastic can't wait to see it finished. What a Heirloom that will be don/t forget to add a piece of your hair in the back somewhere, a quilt lady told me that when I was making mine a few years ago. I placed mine under the label I put on it as she suggested with details of the year it was made etc.Love the colours you have used as well Val
Thanks Val, I've never heard of that tradition of placing hair under the label. Thanks Chris
Wow, a really amazing job.
Impressive!
Hugs, Roberta
HI Chris all I can say is WOW WOW WOW what and acheivement...soozie
looks very impressive. I did try to pick a favourite, but I struggled as they are all really nice.xx
It's beautiful. I love the way my eye travels over the quilt because of your placement.
This is so beautiful! I have been following the progress of this wonderful quilt you are creating. I look forward to seeing the next step. Hugs, Suzanna
wow, a masterpiece, great work, I admire your perseverance, simply fantastically, hugs Maria
The sashing really adds to the dimension of the quilt. This is one the should be displayed at quilt shows! Truly a work of art.
Thanks Debbie I think so too. I'm going to send a picture to Daleen at Stitchdelight when finished as all but 2 of the designs are hers. Love Chris
What a Masterpiece of work!!! Stunning work done...
Sure is pretty. Labor of Love. Thank you for sharing
Happy Stitching :~)
Now, this is an heirloom quilt to be passed down through the generations! Your quilting skills are amazing as is your ME. I love this quilt and am anxious to see it finished!
Thanks Penny, I do hope so. You never know who will end up getting your quilts. I've made one for everyone in the family, so it will just depend on who wants this one. Love Chris
Great work Chris. Gives me a headache just thinking about all you have done on this masterpiece
Ha ha ha, you and me both! I've got about over 15 other pieces I did originally that I didn't think were good enough. So I might use them in a runner or something like a pillow! Love Chris
Lookin' Good Chris!! Almost there...can't wait to see the finished quilt. Have you picked out the quilting yet?
Hi Kim, thanks for commenting. No, I haven't picked out the quilting yet, I don't want it to be too visible as I want the stitching to be prominent. I may get my quilter to just put a wide stipple of some kind. I'll see what designs she has. Love Chris
WOW my friend, beautiful, great job, very creative
hugs
Michelle
It might have been a pain, but it's lovely. You are going to enjoy it. Hugs, Babsie.
Getting there Chris! Looks really great, how are you going to quilt it, or is this a quilt as you go?
Hi Mary, I send it to my quilter who has a long arm machine. This is not a quilt as you go. It's just a piece of fabric on stabiliser and then the pattern is just machine embroidered. I then sewed sashing and decided to put the little pieces in the middle opposite to the sashing. It was a lot of work but it looks good. Love Chris
Almost done. This is quite a project, but well worth it. It is turning out fantastic.
